Administrator Stan Posted May 31, 2023 Administrator Posted May 31, 2023 all kick-offs 19.45 (BST) Thursday 1st June, 2023 Stuttgart vs Hamburg Monday 5th June, 2023 Hamburg vs Stuttgart
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 @nudge will be amazed. 1 minute in and Stuttgart are leading 1-0 already.
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 This should have been the 2-0. Guirassy shoots straight on Heuer Fernandes, though. Good pass from Vagnoman in the build-up.
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Heuer Fernandes saves a penalty from Guirassy. It's mesmerizing how Stuttgart don't lead by more.

Yeah, I have live updates set up on my phone, had to chuckle when I saw the first goal in the very 1st minute Just hope Stuttgart don't fuck it up...
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 1-0 at half time. Stuttgart dominated first half and could and argueably should have scored more goals. That score only being 1-0 is the best thing HSV experienced in that match, so far.
Administrator Stan Posted June 1, 2023 Author Administrator Posted June 1, 2023 This tie is done I think.
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 HSV down to 10 players, now. Suhonen red-carded.
Michael Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Another season in the 2 Bundesliga for Hamburg it seems. It looks like they've failed at the last hurdle once again, as I can't see them turning this result around in the 2nd leg. Stuttgart look too strong for them.

Agreed, seeing HSV shitting the bed during the promotion/relegation play-offs reminds at the "Groundhog Day" movie.Though never gets old.
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 On a side note, at yesterday's TV broadcast on SAT1 something happened, they hopefully will be reminded of, whenever any player or their manager moans how they should have had a penalty. A, HSV player, don't remember which one, was very slightly touched in the penalty area and stayed on his feet, while pundit Babbel couldn't stop talking about how you have to dive in such situations. Wanker!

Wanker! Yep, happens in UK football comms too. 'could/should have gone down' instead of praising the player for staying on their feet and not going down at the slightest of contacts.
Subscriber Coma+ Posted June 2, 2023 Subscriber Posted June 2, 2023 A match that just shows the difference in quality between the two leagues. HSV never threatened and VfB should've had 5-6 goals. Additionally, Derek Rae reminded everyone that Stuttgart have been top 6 in the form table since Hoeness took over, so it's not like they were down and out at the end of the season either.
Administrator Stan Posted June 5, 2023 Author Administrator Posted June 5, 2023 Early goal for Hamburg! Perfect start for them...
Administrator Stan Posted June 5, 2023 Author Administrator Posted June 5, 2023 What a goal from Guirassy. The nonchalance of it. Coolly flicks it with his back heel to beat the keeper.
Administrator Stan Posted June 5, 2023 Author Administrator Posted June 5, 2023 Bastards, ruled out for offside.

Hamburg still have hope of turning this around with Kittel giving them that early lead, especially as Guirassy's lovely goal was cancelled. There seems to be a great atmosphere in the stadium backing Hamburg.
Michael Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 To be fair, Stuttgart look much more dangerous than Hamburg, even away from home.
Administrator Stan Posted June 5, 2023 Author Administrator Posted June 5, 2023 Early goal for Stuttgart in 2nd half. Tie all but over really.
