One thing I've noticed is a lot of birds coming back that seemed to be gone in the last few years. Blackbirds and Sparrows especially. 🤔

I love hearing Sparrows sing. One of my favourite sounds. Always reminds me of vacation. Like when you sit in a plaza somewhere in a southern country with a cold drink, and you can hear the sparrows everywhere. Anyway, I'm glad they're back. xD

Have you lot seen any fireflies in recent years? They were so common when I was a kid, and then I haven't seen them for years until about a month ago. Such a magical sight still...

I love the sounds of birds singing first thing in the morning, wake up in bed with the light shining through your window early morning, it's like an alarm clock really and the birds are your alarm.

I've mentioned this before, in Australia when we had our house in the bush, sit outside on our patio early morning and listen to the black field crickets chirping away, normally summertime with a few cans of lager and then fall asleep and get woken up with bloody Australian bush fly's attacking you. xD

Can't say I have, I think in Australia they are more common in the likes of NSW and the Northern Territory than in Victoria, our other Aussie mob guys in here might know better.

Just did some quick reading, and it seems they are indeed disappearing all over the world, mostly due to habitat loss, pesticides and light pollution :(

I loved these little bugs in Australia when we lived in Broadmeadows, a Harlequin Bug, we had loads of them in our back yard and they reminded me of a ladybug.

Yes, every year in my father's garden. I think there used to be a lot more when I was a kid though, but I still see them on a long summer night.

That's nice! And yeah, I remember them being everywhere during summer nights when I was a kid, and then I just haven't seen a single one for at least 20 years afterwards...

The wife remembers the firefly when she was younger here in Scotland in the countryside, checking up the Lampyris Noctiluca is Britain’s only firefly.

And it's true what you said, they are gradually disappearing. O.o

Why the lights are going out for fireflies

We don't really get fireflies over here and if we do I have never seen one ever my entire life...

Cane Corso :) beautiful dogs. I just wish they wouldn't cut their ears 😭

Just googled them. They look a lot cuter with the original ears, and somehow more threatening with them cut. Is that why people do it? Very stupid. Makes the dog look a bit like Batman though.

Yeah it's mostly for "cosmetic" reasons to make them look meaner and more intimidating. I've heard reasoning that cropping ears helps avoid ear infections and docking tails similarly helps avoid painful tail injuries, but that just sounds nonsensical to me. Think it's thankfully banned mostly everywhere in the EU.

They may look intimidating but really they are lovable dogs.

Is Cane Corso a good family dog?

Originally developed to guard properties and hunt large game, this powerful and protective dog is intimidating at first glance. However, once you get to know him, the Cane Corso is a loyal and loving breed that is devoted to his human pack. These traits make the Cane Corso a great family dog.

Looks like a very good way to protect your child from getting kidnapped. xD

I generally like dogs yet also know how to kill them.

Never done it yet when you hear about some horror attacks by dogs on young children it makes sense to know.

It makes even more sense to know how to train and socialise your dog and how not to leave young children unattended...
