The German Football Association (DFB) has submitted its bid to host the European Championships in 2024.

DFB president Reinhard Grindel handed over the association's bid documents to UEFA on Tuesday alongside bid ambassador and former Germany and Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm.

Germany, who have won the Euros on three occasions and finished runners-up to Spain at the tournament in 2008, submitted their dossier ahead of UEFA's April 27 deadline. The country last hosted the competition in 1988 and staged the World Cup in 2006.

what happened to it being held in different countries? Or is that just for Euro 2020?

There's no oil in Germany, not a chance are they getting this.

There will be lots of gas though, as Russia are doing a deal with Germany with their pipe line.

That was Platini wasn't it? With him gone that awful idea has been put to bed for future tournaments.

I think it was only ever planned to be 2020.

Wouldn't be against it. Germany held a great World Cup in 2006 and haven't had the Euro's since '88.

Personally though, feel it's about time we saw Spain hold an international tournament. They haven't had one since World Cup '82 and in recent years they have been upgrading their stadia with Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid standing out.

You could easily name Nou Camp (Barcelona), Bernabeu (Real Madrid), Wanda Metropolitano (Atletico Madrid), San Mames (Bilbao), Benito Villamarin (Betis), Mestalla (Valencia) etc on top of any further one's built or redeveloped for a tournament.

The climate is perfect for a Summer tournament, the country is very easy for the majority of people to travel to and around. It would be a brilliant place IMO.

Of course, and we totally deserve a World Cup, not just a Euro's.

But let's be thankful we had the Euro's in '96. Spain will have gone 42 years and counting by the time the next tournament's are up for bidding for.

The Turkish Football Federation has submitted a bid to UEFA to host Euro 2024.

The TFF declared its interest in hosting the tournament in March 2017, and submitted its dossier ahead of UEFA's April 27 deadline.

Germany's football association (DFB) submitted a bid earlier this week.

Here we go! @Cannabis alluded to "oil", well this ain't oil, but it's unadulterated politics if it comes off with other untoward non-football connotations in there to boot!  Disgusting option!
