Spike
Benzema, Marcelon, and Asensio have all be fighting to play as the central attacking midfielder. To the point where they get in eachother's way and the chances they all create end up in nothing because no one is their to finish them.
Spike
Real congest the middle too much, so teams just have to play narrow to stifle them.

Yeah, Lopetegui’s football is very foreign to Real Madrid historically and what these players have been used to since they joined the club. It’s more in tune with Barça’a way of playing. But there are moments where they do click and it looks good although they always lose themselves and revert to cross, cross, cross and cross the ball again which is where both goals came from. Real Madrid had an attendance of 48,466 with a capacity for 81,044. The last time this happened to them was the last time La Liga started so early in August which was in 2009 where they registered an attendance of 44,270. It was more noticeable at the Santiago Bernabéu becauae they have a lower capacity than Barça with the Camp Nou which has over 98,000 seats. Looked close to full at Real Betis vs Levante...not a great effort from the big two.

The same as Valencia would do and Mallorca. Those spots are where most Spaniards holiday in and they go to games when they’re on holiday if it’s on. Madrid and Barcelona really does resuce it’s population in the month of August. I know how this sounds but it is an oddity that’s real. What you end up getting at these games with Barça and Madrid if it’s played in August are foreign tourists.
Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2018 Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2018 I think Valencia have been practising long-range shooting in pre-season. All they've done trying to test Atletico is take potshot from about 25 yards.
Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2018 Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2018 quality goal from Correa! Griezmann played in a beautiful reverse-pass in to Correa. Great assist and good goal.

Marcelino is a great coach for beautiful football. But you’re right... There’s a vital cog missing in that side that would make it a polished team. I'm seeing these failed run, passes, and dribbles that if they had worked would've cut any team to ribbons...but doing and trying are too different things. At one moment a Che attempted a backheel that would have opened Atleti up, but Kongdobia didn't anticipate it and ran towards the left channel instead of the right. Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2018 Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2018 what a well-taken goal by Rodrigo. Not often Godin misjudges a cross but he got caught underneath it. Rodrigo chest controls it and then half-volleys it past Oblak.
Spike
As I say that, Rodrigo scores a magnificent half-volley.
Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2018 Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2018 Valencia just had the best chance to win the game in the 87th minute. 2 on 1 but shot saved with ease by Oblak.

Sevilla is a ghost town in August as well mate but it's true many don't venture too far for their holidays and go to nearby coastal areas where it's cooler to escape some of the heat. Indeed... For example Madrid which is in the centre of the country gets to extreme heats too (although not as much as Sevilla which is officially the hottest city in Europe by average)... The Madrileños tend to holiday in the Comunitat Valenciana be it in the province of Valencia (Cullera being their favourite) or in Alicante with their multitude of first class beaches. It's still hot there, but not city hot.
