Dave Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip faces up to six weeks out after suffering a broken collarbone. Sky Sports News understands Matip, 27, went to a local hospital for scans on his shoulder after being involved in a collision in the closing moments of Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Napoli in the Champions League.
LFCMike Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Got to hope Lovren keeps himself fit now. The amount he's injured too though, I'd be surprised
Administrator Stan Posted December 12, 2018 Administrator Posted December 12, 2018 Does this mean it's only Van Dijk and Lovren as fully fit centre-backs?
Cicero Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Liverpool should count themselves lucky Fabinho is versatile. Think he can play RB and CB

Yep, at least out of the senior players. But we let Ragnar Klavan move on because of Nathanial Phillips, so I imagine he's 5th choice.

Got the immune system of a 12 year old from the 1400s.

LFCMadLad Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 VVD suspended for our next CL game means that Lovren (if fit at the time) will be our only CB. Terrific! Maybe a dip into the transfer market, or risk playing a youngster?

Maybe a dip into the transfer market, or risk playing a youngster? Won't the next CL game be in February? Both Gomez and Matip should be back by then. We're fortunate in a sense that these injuries aren't soft-tissue injuries.

LFCMadLad Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Ahh fair enough then. Just Got to hope to fuck VVD and Lovren stay fit in the meantime then.
