I didn't even know it was happening! :o Currently in pre-production so will definitely take a while.

Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, will play the role of the young Tony Soprano. He joins Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Billy Magnussen and Corey Stoll in the ensemble drama that is set in the era of the ’60s Newark riots, when African Americans and Italians of that city were at each others throats. It was especially lethal among gangsters from each group. The story focuses on Dickie Moltisanti (Nivola), a mentor to young Tony as his own father, Johnny Boy, was grooming his son on a pathway to organized crime prominence. There are expected to be call-backs and shout-outs to numerous other series characters in the film, which is set in the earlier time period.

Yeah. Wow Bluewolf.

Sopranos and the west wing are (for me) the point where this current golden age of TV really first started to kick off

Saints of Newark???

The only saints I know of are Saints of Southampton.

The "many saints" in the title probably refers to Moltisanti :)

I started watching it and watched 1 episode. It's the next show i'm going to get into. Before Peaky Blinders and GoT come back on our screens.

Michael Gandolfini playing his Dad's character is a special one. If what i've read is true, he was the one who found his Dad after he'd had heart attack.

You missed out. Up until the likes of Power, Breaking Bad, Prison break(well the first 3 series) and Sons of Anarchy came about, it was my favourite series ever(the Wire being another good one), although it's hard to say now as there are so many top series out these days. It's the opposite with films though.

I've said before, but get onto Power.

This saddens me greatly. Im gonna try and watch it tomorrow while im off.

Yeah... It's not that it was particularly bad, but it just didn't do anything for me. Some characters felt like caricatures and borderline parody (looking at you, Silvio), some pointless storylines. Overall, a very mediocre and forgettable movie. I re-watched Donnie Brasco afterwards xD

Alright so I just watched it. I dont even care about the storyline I just loved the call backs and character connections. Maybe im a sucker but I ate this shit up. I loved Silvio! the walk, the way he carried himself ah man. I get it, as a standalone movie it really isnt great but thats not what I wanted out of it. Junior was awesome and that ending! Chefs kiss!
