Leclerc bashes qualifying and takes pole. Not on the wind up either when I say that Vettel is already rattled.

Problems for Gasly again, don't know what happened there. Impressive from Haas and McLaren while Renault are absolutely nowhere.

Brilliant by Leclerc, well deserved. Hope he won't be forced into giving way for Seb tomorrow. To be fair to him though, Ferrari put him in the worst spot on the track in Q2 so he wasted a set of tyres and could only go for one run in Q1. Ferrari seem to have solved their issues, so hopefully we'll see a real title fight this year. Mercedes were very close and race pace is too close to call. I think we're in for a very interesting race tomorrow!

Kimi P9, but I'm again disappointed with Giovinazzi. P16 only...

Really impressed with McLaren; great development and to have two cars in Q1 is a great achievement. Same with Haas. Will be interesting to see their race pace tomorrow.

Also very happy for Albon, good quali by him and could have been even better if hadn't gone wide twice in the same corner xD

Grosjean has been handed 3 places grid penalty for impeding Norris in qualifying; will start from P11 as a result. That means Kimi moves up to P8, Norris to P9 and Ricciardo to P10 on the starting grid.

Looks like a similar pattern to last season, Merc on fire opening race then Ferrari bouncing back the following race. Lewis is usually a slow starter and Mercedes development wise come on strong after the mid-season break. So for that reason in order to have a good battle all season, Ferrari need to pick up points in the first half of the season and not make daft errors. If Charles can rack up the points but Ferrari hold him back, it could come back to bite them in the arse.

It could be different though, Ferrari might continue to grow stronger and out develop Merc all season.

Oh Lewis.
