It’s the Return of the Sack - 19/20 Managerial Changes

We’ve already kicked off silly season, after backing him all summer, Huddersfield sacked that fella nobody had heard of after he didn’t manage to change a mentality inside of three games and Sol Campbell has, rightfully, left Macclesfield after not being paid for four months.

Whose next? Warnock? Nathan Jones?

Didn't see this one coming.

Phil Parkinson has left BWFC. The one, consistent, rock steady man who has shown class, tact and poise throughout this whole sorry affair, has walked away.

I don't know if that means the takeover is imminent... or something far, far worse.

Many of our 'fans' have been chanting for him to go for months, even years. Yes, his football was poor, and yes, he perhaps stayed on too long, but the sane, sensible fans of this club will never forget his gentlemanly conduct in what has undoubtedly been the hardest 18 months any manager in the country has had to face.

Phil, thanks for promotion. Thanks for Wilbraham in the 92nd minute. Thanks for being the glue that held this sorry mess together. All the best.

Well, what massive unscriptabke nonsense is coming up for us tomorrow? My bet is a great big District 9-style UFO hovering over the UniBol and handing out complementary pies before zapping the stadium up into their ship while Ride of the Valkyries plays in the background. My concept of 'the possible' has been somewhat skewed in the past 6 months.

Cocu at Derby under Mel Morris will be lucky to still be in place at Christmas.  The Candy Crush King needs to have patience and stay well clear of the dressing room.  Let the real football people run things on the pitch.

Steven Pressley: Carlisle United sack manager after 10 months in charge

Carlisle United have sacked manager Steven Pressley after 10 months in charge of the League Two club.

The Cumbrians are 19th in the fourth tier but have won two of their past three games in all competitions.

The 46-year-old leaves after Tuesday's 3-1 Leasing.com Trophy loss at Morecambe, having beaten non-league Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Cup on Friday and Macclesfield Town the week before.

The club's remaining coaches will take charge of the first team temporarily.

"Steven has given his all and has worked tirelessly since the day he joined us," chairman Andrew Jenkins said in a statement.

"We understand the challenges and have supported him throughout, but we haven't seen the evidence of the progress we expected or needed to see.

"This is not something we can allow to continue, so sadly it is time to change, move on and look forward."

Carl Fletcher: Leyton Orient manager sacked after 29 days in charge of League Two club

Leyton Orient have sacked manager Carl Fletcher after just 29 days in charge of the League Two club.

The 39-year-old former Wales midfielder had agreed with a contract until the summer of 2021 on 16 October.

The O's were knocked out of the FA Cup by eighth-tier Maldon and Tiptree United in the first round on Sunday.

Orient failed to win any games with Fletcher in the dugout - he was an observer when Orient beat Grimsby 4-0 three days after his appointment.

Fletcher, who managed Plymouth Argyle for 16 months before being sacked in January 2013, had succeeded Ross Embleton, who had been in interim charge since Justin Edinburgh's death in June.

Prior to his return to management, Fletcher had been working for his first club AFC Bournemouth, first as a youth coach and latterly as loan player-manager.

Grimsby have sacked Michael Jolley too. Absolute joke. Built the morale of the club up, built a good foundation of a team and made some good signings and is getting penalised for a month of bad form. Our board is ridiculous. Good luck to Jolley. He will go on to be an amazing manager at a top club.
