  1. Saudi score a controversial winner deep into injury time through Al-Bulayhi. His headed goal was flagged for offside by the linesman, but the decision was changed and the goal was allowed by the referee after VAR. The Oman side will be gutted as they played very well, but Saudi played an extremely attacking game in the 2nd half and it ultimately paid off. Saudi Arabia 2-1 Oman
  2. Ghareeb equalises for Saudi Arabia with a lovely solo goal. He took on several players and slotted the ball home. Saudi Arabia 1-1 Oman
  3. Saudi Arabia have been pressing a lot in the 2nd half looking for the equaliser, but Oman have caused many problems for the Saudis on the counter attack. Oman looking good value for their lead with the way they have played.
  4. Kavendji scored a late goal in the 88th minute to give Namibia a shock win over Tunisia. That was a huge win for the Namibians. Tunisia 0-1 Namibia
  5. Oman have taken a shock lead against Saudi Arabia in the Asian Cup, as a penalty from Al-Yahyaei has given them the lead. The Saudis have since pressed and created some chances, but they've yet to find the equaliser so far in the 1st half. Saudi Arabia 0-1 Oman
  6. It's 0-0 between Tunisia and Namibia at half-time, but really Tunisia have had the better of the game and I'd expect them to end up winning this match. Tunisia 0-0 Namibia
  7. Bertrand Traore scores with a penalty for Burkina Faso late in injury time right at the end of the match. Burkina Faso have played much better in the 2nd half and the win is kind of deserved as they have also dominated possession. Burkina Faso 1-0 Mauritania
  8. Chaided scores his 2nd goal of the match to give Thailand a 2-0 lead. Thailand 2-0 Kyrgyzstan
  9. He was the more active keeper in the first half, he made a few decent saves. But I think that with at least one, he made a bit of a meal with the save. For example that shot from a free-kick that he turned over the bar for a corner, he made that reflex save look spectacular, but I think most Premier League keepers would have probably caught it and been in a better position to save it. He has been heavily involved though and he doesn't seem to lack confidence.
  10. Thailand are deservedly leading against Kyrgyzstan in their opening Asian Cup match, but the Central Asian side have had chances of their own in a tough match. Yesterday's games were much more one sided as South Korea and Iraq defeated Bahrain and Indonesia by a score of 3-1 respectively, while Jordan disposed of Malaysia 4-0.
  11. Not the most exciting of 1st halves in the competition between Burkina Faso and Mauritania, but I think that Mauritania have had the better chances of the match so far. I think that the hosts Ivory Coast should go very far in this competition and perhaps even win it. They look like they've got a very good team.
  12. I can't really argue too much with most of your selections here, apart from Karel Poborsky. He had a good Euro 96, but apart from that, he kind of had an up and down career. His time at Man Utd wasn't a great personal success, although he did have some decent seasons at other clubs. However, I'd say that players like Tomas Rosicky, Patrik Berger, Jan Koller, Pavel Kuka, Jiri Nemec, Vladimir Smicer, Milan Baros, Petr Cech, Tomas Skuhravy, Zdenek Nehoda and Antonin Panenka were all arguably better than Poborsky.
  13. This is exactly the point that I wanted to make. The reason that Keegan is pretty much forgotten by a lot of people, is much less to do with the fact he didn't play in the 1990s or play in the Premier League. Because Bobby Charlton was much older than Keegan, but he was always regarded as an English footballing legend, arguably our best ever player. It's more to do with the fact that Keegan played at a time when the England national team of the 1970's were quite frankly a bit shit. We failed to qualify for both the 1974 and 1978 World Cups, as well as the 1976 Euros. Keegan only ever played in 2 international tournaments for England, namely the 1980 Euros and the 1982 World Cup. In the former tournament, England failed to even qualify from their group. Although Keegan played in both of these tournaments for England, he failed to score a single goal. I think shining for England and playing well at a major international tournament for England, goes a long way in helping a player gain that legend status. Keegan was no doubt an excellent player at club level, where he achieved a heck of a lot of accolades. But it's clear to me, that his lack of success with England is one of the major reasons people tend to forget him when thinking of the great England players through the generations. Although I am too young to have watched him live, I know many of the older people in my family who rave about how good Keegan was as a player. Some of the Youtube clips I've watched of him also seem to confirm how talented he was. He should definitely be classed as one of England's best ever players.
  14. Really? What about the 1974 World Cup winning team and the 1990 World Cup winning team? That 1990 squad was stacked with quality players who would go on to play for many more international tournaments.

Exactly, he's never been the best boxer, but it's Wilder's ferocious knockout punch that he's used to finish everyone he's fought(except for Fury), that's given him this fearsome reputation. But has his ability to utilise that punch and execute the finishing blow at the top level of boxing finished? Parker won a huge points victory over Wilder today, with Wilder unable to land anything significantly damaging. Parker is a top boxer, but not an elite heavyweight. Joshua easily defeated Parker on points several years ago and Parker has also lost to the likes of Dillian Whyte on points as well as being knocked out by Joe Joyce. After this defeat, I dare say that a lot more heavyweights will be less afraid of taking on Wilder and his powerful punching power, because they will fancy their chances of doing a similar job to what Parker did on Wilder this night. I also think that this defeat makes Tyson Fury's 3 wins over Wilder look less impressive. Although Fury getting up from the canvas after that powerful punch from Wilder in their first fight will always be admirable. I have to say I was very impressed with Joshua's win over Wallin. Joshua was always the favourite to win, but for him to do a demolition job right from the start against a very respected boxer like Wallin was very impressive. Joshua won every round and he simply outclassed Wallin with his boxing skills and his punching power. This has to be one of Joshua's best performances of his career, it was a very impressive win. If Wilder were to fight Joshua, I think we all know now that Joshua would be a clear favourite to win. Moreover, Joshua against Fury would also now be a 50/50 fight, whereas before tonight's fights, Fury would have been the favourite. It was also good to see Dubois win his fight against Miller, although it was kind of expected.

Mate, Joshua took 7 rounds to KO Helenius. Wallin is a much better boxer than Helenius. If Joshua KO's Wallin in the early rounds as you suggest, then I will be very impressed. However, somehow I feel this will be a much tougher fight for Joshua. I mean Joshua should win, he is the favourite, but I suspect that Joshua will probably KO Wallin in the later rounds or he will win on points.

That's just it though, I don't think that Parker will manage to keep away from that big right hand cannon of Wilder's for 12 rounds. So I see him falling and losing before the 12th round finishes. The Joshua v Wallin fight will probably be closer in my opinion. If Joshua gets a KO in that fight, that will be a bit of a statement, because Wallin has never been KO'd in his career, not even in his only loss as a professional boxer against Tyson Fury.

I've been waiting for this weekend of boxing for a while. There are some great fights lined up. The pick of which are obviously Joshua v Wallin, Wilder v Parker and Dubois v Miller. Having knocked out another Nordic heavyweight in Robert Helenius back in August this year, Joshua now faces the Swedish boxer Otto Wallin, easily the best Nordic heavyweight around. This fight will be much tougher for Joshua and for me, this will be a real test for him. Wallin took Tyson Fury to 12 rounds, when they fought and he troubled Fury with several punches, despite losing the fight to the Brit. Wallin's last fight was a win over the much respected boxer Murat Gassiev, the former cruiserweight world champion. Wallin seems to have steadily improved since his fight against Fury as well. Joshua is rightfully the favourite, but he faces a very tough test here and a Wallin win is possible, given that he is one of the best heavyweights out there. If Joshua wins this fight, I think it will go a long way to proving that he is still a top class heavyweight, especially if Joshua wins in style. The Wilder v Parker fight is also very interesting. Wilder's punching power is unrivalled by any heavyweight in the world. When he catches opponents with his swinging right fist, they inevitably get knocked out. Parker is a very competent heavyweight. He has defeated respected heavyweights in Andy Ruiz Jnr and Derek Chisora. He is a very good technical boxer ,with very good movement and speed. If Parker manages to take this fight the full 12 rounds, then he could possibly win this fight. But I just think that Wilder's power will overwhelm Parker and he will get caught by Wilder's ferocious right hook in one of the rounds, which will be the end of the night for him. So I see a Wilder KO victory in this fight. Lastly, the less high profile Dubois v Miller duel, should be quite intriguing. Jarrell Miller is undefeated in his professional heavyweight career, but Dubois is definitely his toughest fight yet. I believe that Dubois has really improved as a boxer and I think that he wins here against the American Miller, by way of a KO.
