It would make a nice change to have something more long term... I am not bothered about instant success as long as we have steady progress season on season, If Potter can get the best out of the side we have now we could still win things during that time.. I suppose it's all going to depend on whether Boehly is really in it for the long haul or not?? If he is then regardless of the results or position from the first couple of seasons he will still back him even if the improvement is steady rather than immediate... If on the other hand Boehly hired Potter just because he wanted a 'yes man' then I am not so sure... Going by the Ronaldo saga that took place it seemed as though Boehly was keen to try and bring in a big name as a statement signing and Tuchel was not keen on that idea and if he tried the same thing again with whomever ( insert big name here ) in the future then it could be a case of Potter having to concede ground and taking a player he might not want and then trying to make that work within the team which is a recipe for disaster.. Still, we can only guess at the possible outcomes at this point...

Watched 'Top Gun Maverick' Didn't expect much from this but it surprised me... Very good, hard to tell what was real and what wasn't... This has to be my favourite scene in the whole film.. 8/10

I discussed this at the beginning of the season where I felt we had not got our primary targets like Kounde and Raphinha & de Ligt for example then we were forced to bring in alternative second choice players to basically fill the gaps in the side. For me this means we have not improved our side only kept it the same as last season at best... We fell short last season simply because our existing players were just a level below title winning levels and as we can see from our early performances so far we have actually gone backwards! Koulibaly is going to find the pace of English football tough going at his age and it will take him a while to adjust.. Fofana is a work in progress and not the finished article by a long stretch and now we have taken a last minute punt on Aubameyang to try and help solve our goalscoring woes. It's a side that's been cobbled together on the hoof and I can't help think that Boehly has ridden into Transfer town feeling like Clint Eastwood only to be gunned down mercilessly like Deputy Dawg in his first transfer shoot out... from there on in it was a scramble for the next best thing available and all done to the delightful background laughter of Barcelona... Other worries are players like Mount who should be showing signs of improvement as each season passes but alas I don't see that happening and you can top that off with what can only be described as the most horrific performance from wantaway Ziyech last night that I would swear it was almost a deliberate attempt to push him closer towards a January transfer.. It is what it is and we are yet to see if Tuchel can steer this boat away from the oncoming Iceburg but if he has had a major hand in all of these transfers then he is going to need to held fully accountable for it if it fails..

It's a relief that we have kept the old spend,spend,spend policy under the new regime... Thought for a while when Abramovich went that we would become one of the pauper clubs but thankfully we seem to be throwing money around with wild abandon just like we used to...

Agreed... It's ok but it lacks that intensity, still trying to get my head around Matt Smith trying a more serious role.. Fair play he obviously wanted the challenge but it's a strange fit for me... Just throw in a few dragons here and there hoping the rest may go unnoticed..

Chin up mate... Those were my first thoughts.... Some people get a bit carried away on holiday when they think they have met their dream person after a few drinks it all gets a bit fantasy land and love at first sight type thing.. when the drinks start flowing and all the flash chat is on the go it's easy to get carried away for a week or two but they forget that a holiday is just an escape from the ordinary 9-5 hum drum daily life.. Then it's back to reality..
