  1. Iran kills a Palestinian- ‘oh no my heart breaks, thoughts and prayers’ Israel kill Palestinians en masse - ‘there is no genocide against these terrorists’ unreal to read these sentiments

  3. It is an interesting interpretation for sure, and definitely makes sense, especially juxtaposed with how Christianity survived in Muslamic Spain, but Islam didn’t survive in Christian Spain post-reconquista. Of course this is just a microcosm of history and Al-Andalus of the Ummayads is a world and a long ti e apart from the Abasssids in the near east, but the parallels are interesting for sure. I’m sure you can fill me in, but is the ultra-orthodox, aggressive converting, and hostile manifestation of Islam a reaction of post-partition Ottomon Empire? I feel like I don’t read or know about these traits in Africa or Pakistan for instance.
  4. Arab and Israelis live 'peacefully; 'This isn't an ethnic issue' https://www.hrw.org/news/2011/03/30/israel-new-laws-marginalize-palestinian-arab-citizens https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/arabs-israel-stay-sidelines-raging-democracy-battle-2023-07-26/ https://carnegieendowment.org/posts/2024/02/the-many-civil-and-human-rights-challenges-facing-israels-palestinian-citizens?lang=en https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/what-know-about-arab-citizens-israel @Azeem@Rucksackfranzose@OrangeKhrush Here is some more reading material to be ignored.
  5. Also the implication that it's okay because this isn't an ethnic problem it's an ideological problem What a profoundly stupid thing to say.
  6. So you’re saying that Israel outnumbered in the middle-east is analogous to Nazis being outnumbered in Germany?
  7. It’s a very Victorian sport, It never really dug into Queensland or New South Wales culturally. It’s all rugby league.
  8. Brisbane slaughtered Sydney. Missed half the game because I was asleep, but it was laready over at that point.
  9. Will you shut up already, cuntlips? People can cry victim all they want when their child’s head is exploded onto the sidewalk.
  10. I’m sure Biden/Harris are incredibly furious that this happened and escalated during an election cycle. We have Harris out here saying egregious shit to placate one group but also alienating another group. Now the Republicans can lay into them for the situation at hand and wank themselves on how they’d ‘fix it’.
  11. Pretentious and boring. I used to listen to them as a kid but it became evident they just wanted to do Radiohead’s The Bends with more piano. Their staying power beyond 2007 stuns me.
  12. Depends on who and when. George HW Bush for instance gave Israel a very short leash, and was highly critical to the point of tension. He withheld financial support as coercion to slow down Israeli expansion into Palestine territories. This post also fails to address and dismisses the fact the USA is the third biggest country in the world with many factions desiring different actions and outcomes. Zionist lobbies would want a total victory, surely? But the military contractors would probably want the war to be indecisive and long, with no reason to want either side to win or lose. I’m sure the Biden administration is actually incredibly frustrated with Israel’s recent inability of restraint; making it much harder to justify support of Israel. Eternal threat of war maintaining status quo would have been preferable over this. I don’t think they actually have compassion for Palestine at all but I do 100% they are incredibly mad at Israel for escalation and putting them in an diplomatic position. So just from what I can observe, three factions have different objectives. I feel like the Biden administration would want the situation to revert as closely as it could to pre-war, the military would want a prolonged conflict, and Zionists want total victory. Of course this is conjecture but I can’t imagine a situation where they major players actually desire the same end objective, as they’d all be trying to further their own goals.
  13. Shockingly not even the most evil thing they said…
  14. It is the other way around mate. So in the USA beginning in the 1970s the republican party and the democratic party went through a bit of a change up, the specifics are very dense and incredibly convoluted but essentially it ended with the Nixon administration courting the 'Southern Strategy' and the Reagan campaign fully implementing it. The Southern Strategy headed my Lee Atwater under Reagan essentially switched focus from urban areas with diverse population groups, because 'blacks won't vote republican' to focusing on white dense areas of the 'confederate states' and honing in their racism and bigotry, by courting these people using 'dog whistles' they were able to build a strong voting base that dominated rural areas and took advantage of the electoral college. In tandem with this, the Reagan administration also courted religious evangelical Christians, also mainly whites, appealing to their conviction of beliefs and fanaticism, by associating the party with their religious beliefs they created a bulwark voting base that preyed on racism and religious zealotry. They've been doing this for nearly fifty years and Trump is just the next in line who has been able to take advantage of this voting base, he didn't 'create' a cult, he merely shifted the focus onto him and was able to be a vehicle for whatever beliefs they already had, because in reality he doesn't really fulfill those beliefs, his followers just project them onto him. At least that is what I'm able to parse as a reality in the USA, he is just plucking fruit from a tree that was planted long before.

  16. That’s a false equivalency, mate. You’re comparing a singular entity to an entire nation made up of conflicting governmental factions and agencies, as well as independent organisations. Maybe someone in Taiwan knew about it, maybe they didn’t, we don’t know but to immediately point fingers at entire countries is an overreaction. Did Taiwan allow it? Or did it happen in Taiwan? There is a difference between the two. How many foreign owner companies manufacture in Taiwan? How many foreign companies manufacture in China? Every country listed does. So you’re gonna boycott a PlayStation because it’s Japanese despite it being assembled in China? That’s just paranoia. There are a million ways to have bugged these devices, it didn’t have to happen at manufacturing. How did Israel know they used that particular model? How did Israel know that these were going to Lebanon? I’d say Israeli intelligence intercept these at warehouse distribution so they knew they were going to Beirut and not some random place.
  17. Nah I disagree with this, these guys are just hysterical right now. This China opinion is also insane, drop shipping inferior or scam products is a daily occurrence, right now low quality mechanical litter boxes manufactured in China are getting dropped shipped and they literally kill cats. That’s some tankie shit.
  18. I mean particularly when it comes to political imagery.
  19. Why are right wingers obsessed ai art?

  21. Trump got heemed by Kamala. Trump got heemed by the moderators. Kamala also got heemed by the moderators but much less so than Donny Dumps.
  22. It sounds like bullshit but exactly the sort of bullshit organised religion likes to do, so I'm gonna agree with you despite either of us having no evidence for or against.

Graphic fidelity is beyond diminishing returns at this point.
  24. That’s completely different. Cuban Americans are mainly comprised of post-revolution exiles. They have particular bond to pick with the democratic for their failures on the bay of pigs invasion under JFK.
