  4. Potter also doesn't have a track record of throwing tantrums midway through the season and then quitting his contract while also somehow getting the remainder of his salary paid out in full.
  5. U2’s 80s and early 90s output is amazing, Up until after Achtung Baby they didn’t make a bad album
  6. Atletico Madrid were also given fond treatment by Franco, Real Madrid only got more attention because they were winning more. Atleti were the club of the airforce. Franco is such an interesting figure, so vague, so hidden from the public. He was smart to make Real Madrid a symbol of Spanish nationalism, he never made himself a public symbol. Not quite a fascist, not quite a dictator, some murky in between all because they didn’t let him into the Navy.
  7. AC Milan - owned by Silvio Burlesconi Inter Milan - owned by billionaires by Pellegrini and then Moratti Juventus - Owned by bilionaire Agnelli family since forever Real Madrid - floated by Spanish banks Manchester United - constant owner funding wince 1912. Several times preventing bankruptcy. Wouldn’t exist without doping, would have folded 100 years ago. Liverpool - owned by the Moore family, one of the richest in the UK for over fifty years. Bayern and Barcelona are owned by fans, but I don’t think there is a single doub today that has never taken ‘outside’ finances. In fact most of these clubs were founded by rich English people.
  8. None of that matters and you know it. The only thing that matters is marketing, and Chelsea are more marketed and currently more famous than Arsenal. Trust me from an international angle on this one mate, I’ve been everywhere man and I’ll tell you Chelsea gets waaay more attention. I get your angle as a Pom and looking at the landscape of Lundin but we can’t pretend it is the ‘English’ league when it is an International league based in England and Wales. You know I don’t buy into the ‘earned it’ nonsense, so for me personally I don’t know why you’d bring it up. If we were talking in 1962, I might agree with you. Right time, right place, during the rapid monetisation of the sport. The players and staff still had to work to win it,
  9. That's your age talking. You grew up when Arsenal were a force, a cool club with superstar players and a superstar manager. Ask the Gen Zer and they'd say Arsenal are a rung below, nestled next to Tottenham, closer to West Ham than Chelsea, Liverpool, United, and City.
  10. I was looking at Playsation magazine covers from the late 90s and early 00s earlier. How sad is that I got a surge of endorphins when I saw a couple I read as a kid
  11. I had the first two on DVD. Watched them all the time. Fuck I wish I was 10 still
  12. Pull your heads in, get a grip, there is now ay that the FA would allow losing one of their biggest international brands.

You are such a classic codger This is the sort of shit my grandad would say
  20. Not to mention his absolutely stacked Milan and Chelsea teams. Despite his overwhelming success he is a bit of an underachiever in some ways. One league win with Kaka, Shevchenko, Maldini, Costacurta, Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Cafu, Nesta, Seedorf, Costa, Inzaghi, Crespo, Staam, and so on. It's pretty bad to get one league win with players like that.
  21. Been meaning to watch it for yeara
  22. Yeah I had the feeling I was getting the wrong impression, that is why I wasn’t being overly critical or accusatory, I even deleted a heap of stuff., but I still probably came off as aggressive even though I wasn’t trying to be, I think I can just write too bluntly. It is easy to do when something so intense has been smashed out in a few minutes
  23. I was thinking this guy has some mad self loathing, which isn’t atypical. They powers do like to make you think that way
