  1. Supposed to be 18 and partly sunny in Cincy today. Yesterday wasn't quite as warm but it was nice to feel the sun. Love it.

    Gyros tonight.
  3. I've always been put off by NASCAR over here because of the stereotypical fan. The racing is interesting but the fanbase seems degenerate and 400 mile races seem ridiculous to me.
  4. I don't know shit about F1, but the enthusiasm in this forum convinced me to watch the first episode of Drive to Survive.
  5. Lars Windhorst is upset because he threw 375m euros down the drain at Hertha .
  6. @Viva la FCB, I saw a headline over the weekend that Alexander Nübel isn't with the club right now because he and Neuer cannot co-exist? Wtf?
  7. For anyone who hadn't seen this. I wasn't aware that he was leaving at the end of the year. https://www.kicker.de/klos-abschied-bedeutet-eine-grosse-zaesur-890178/artikel

Ah well, this one was a bit too far for us. I didnt really expect to win but it was nice not getting blown out. Maybe get Burrow some pass blockers in the off-season considering he spent half of the playoffs on the turf.

Too many ads, I agree. Makes you appreciate uninterrupted halves of fussball even more.

I knew I liked you. I've always had a thing for bald men.

In honor of Bengals tonight, a pile of Cincinnati chili.
  13. I was shitting in diapers in the 70's. And to be honest with you, I have only watched bits of matches here and there over the past several years. I gave up around the time they started highlighting the puck for TV audiences.
  14. There's always that debate between keeping the traditional fans happy and appealing to a new demographic. I grew up with the free-flowing high scoring hockey of the early 90's, when even shit teams had at least one player with >100 points. The North Stars, Whalers, and Nordiques still existed and no one dreamt of hockey in Phoenix and Atlanta. The product now is vastly different and just doesn't appeal to me anymore.
  15. I stopped watching hockey when the league decided to overhaul the traditions. Re-alignment, renaming the conferences, ditching ties for OTL's. The only good thing they've ever done was introducing the obstruction calls, and I don't even know if that's a thing anymore.
  16. I agree that playoff hockey, and basketball, are the best the sport has to offer. The argument I have always had is the length of the regular season in comparison to the playoffs. Why play 80+ games (or in baseball, 160+ games!) only to have the title decided by a playoff. As for Bundesliga clubs getting a bye in the first round, that can fuck right off. If anything, I think Buli clubs should have to play away against any lower league opponent, unless the opponent agrees otherwise.
  17. https://www.kicker.de/kahn-ueber-play-offs-ich-finde-es-spannend-889491/artikel I'm a little surprised to hear Kahn say this. I'm even more surprised to see the comments from other clubs (Augsburg, Union, Bochum) reject the idea entirely. Tradition seems to be more important than an outside shot at winning a title. I'm torn on this subject. I understand the reasoning, both for and against, for end-of-season playoffs. There's a lot of hatred out there for the American sports model and I have to agree that having a lengthy regular season is meaningless if you're going to implement a playoff at the end.

Must be raining cash where you live. Butcher prices are outrageous here in the US.

Below freezing outside, so a bowl of chili is on the menu.
