  1. Honestly for the most part the weather in where I am in the states is so mild compared to the UK. And so far this storm hasn’t been that bad where I’m at (at least so far), I feel stupid for being worried yesterday…

They use so much electricity so I’ve always steered clear, but everyone I know with one has a ninja
  3. I’m pretty scared about this hurricane/tropical storm that’s headed my way
  4. That's a horrific story, jesus fucking christ
  5. Dai Miei's fairly close to the Vatican if you want to try to time going there right, that's probably the day to do it.
  6. 4 days in Florence is great. Get gelato from La Strega Nocciola. Best gelato I've had in my life. Also eat at a Fiorentine steak house... I'll have to look up the place I went to. I basically ate myself into needing a good long sleep there though It's also worth checking out the Uffizi, going to see Michelangelo's David with your own eyeballs, and Il Duomo. Ending on Rome's probably the best way to end a trip to Italy. Like I said, my favourite city in the world. There's so much to do and see there, and so many brilliant places to eat. Off the top of my head though, Ristorante Dai Miei is a place I'll always eat at when I go to Rome for as long as it's open. That's the best food I've had in my entire fucking life. The wife and husband that own and run the place are fucking great as well. Definitely go there and eat like an Italian getting all the courses they've got to offer, have her pair your food with the wines she recommends. I'm now starving and jealous, I want to go too.
  7. That was my experience with Naples as well. I'd just come from Bari and Puglia, which was a great experience because I'd gotten loads of warnings about "oooh south of Italy's dodgy, lotsa crime there they'll target you as a tourist" and instead the only way I was targeted as a tourist was people seemed to go out of their way to be friendly as fuck to me. They loved that I spoke Italian badly lol, many of them were also I think looking for an opportunity to practice their English with English speakers too. But Bari's a beautiful and charming city, Puglia generally is a very beautiful region that's really great to visit. So going to Naples was a bit of a shock because it was definitely more of that "south of Rome" stereotype. But at the same time, it wasn't dangerous feeling or truly dodgy. It was just dirty. It was still a great city with lovely people in it and as you say... the pizza there is imo the best in the world. It's also got a lot to see for tourists - that Veiled Christ sculpture is so fucking impressive to see with your own eyes. For all the talk of it being a "high crime city" I got more grief from police at the train station (got stopped 3 times and asked to show my passport lol) than I got from any criminals. As an ex-smoker, I will say... when I'm in Italy, I just smoke because fuck it everyone else is doing it - but I don't have kids yet or anyone to be a good example to. Just irritates my wife a bit... until she gets drunk enough to ask for a cigarette. I love Italy though, I want to go back as often as I can... and when I retire, I'd absolutely love to live there. Rome's probably my favourite city in the world. Florence is also an incredible place. And honestly, I fell in love with Bari while I was there. And @Coma when you go, try to get as many of the city/regional specialty dishes as you can. Italy is truly a great place for food and cities and regions have their own meals that really just stand out as absolutely fucking delicious. Also drink lots of Peroni. Not the Nastro Azzuro, but the one that has the red label on the bottle.
  8. Fuckin' told you @Coma, Italy is fucking fantastic.
  9. See @Coma, you definitely should go to Italy.
  10. Surely Ariana Grande discussion belongs in the entertainment section of the forum, not the news section.
  11. On the plus side, if he ever does something insane on the pitch we can use his name in shit jokes saying "Wataru doing Endo?!"
  12. I think we're already in trouble this season tbh
  13. The issue I have with that is sometimes the VAR official is an absolute fucking moron who's got no ideas what the laws of the game are. Would the challenge for VAR review mean the ref on the pitch has to actually go review the footage? My big issue with VAR is it should help. But when it doesn't, it's genuinely a case of the blind leading the blind.
  14. One's a player that suffered from mental issues that derailed his career, the other's a guy who managed to convince Souness and a football club that he was actually a football player. Delli Ali actually had some good moments on a football pitch, Ali Dia was literally just a fraud.
  15. I don't think we've been that savvy in the market for a while now tbh. Gakpo and Diaz have proven to be good signings, but for years we've needed investment in the midfield and it's taken 5 players leaving for us to bring in 2 midfielders and now we're left scratching our arses trying to bring in a DM when the whole world knows we need one. And I think we're sort of sleepwalking into the same situation at CB. It's really neglectful by FSG and the recruitment team - we've only got so much time with Klopp and Salah, and wasting time with rebuilds is not making the most of that time. And it has me genuinely worried for when we don't have Klopp getting us punching above our weight tbh. It would take some manager to come close to him, so it's likely our next manager after him isn't going to be quite as good. While we were at our best, we should have been investing money to keep ourselves as good as we were. Now that things have fallen apart a bit we're ready to splash the cash but we're not as attractive of a proposition.
  16. Even if we get Lavia, it’s going to be for more money than it would have been last week if we just tried to get it wrapped up before the season started. We sort of rested on our laurels after the CL win. For years a large number of our fans have said “this midfield needs a refresh” and FSG said “nah” - then last year made that abundantly clear. Then the Saudis came in and took.2 more midfielders off us. So now we’ve basically got a whole new look midfield to try to get all on the same page as quickly as possible. Meanwhile we also need to refresh our defense a bit. And if it’s anything like the last few years, I think FSG will say “nah” until it’s painfully fucking obvious. It’s a shame Michael Edwards left us because we’re in desperate need of competency from our recruitment department.

  18. You should have doubled down and just said "yes" while refusing to elaborate further mate
  19. I'll laugh if Bayern don't win the title next season.
  20. You'll have more money to rebuild without Kane. Obviously the issue there is you lose your superstar - but if he's not signing a contract, it's better business to take the cash and rebuild with that. Because with or without Kane, there's no telling where Spurs (or any club, for that matter... well other than City tbh) end up at the end of the season.
  21. I don't think they can replace him with just a like-for-like replacement. At least not easily. I think they'd have to rebuild the side and have a new approach to the season.
  22. I think @Batard a long time ago got me set up with some sort of mods that improved the general stability of the game so it wouldn't crash that much - that's really the only mod I used. I can't remember what they are and I don't have the game installed on my computer anymore so I can't really help you out in that regard. Yeah, I love the retro music of the Fallout games for some reason. It doesn't really make sense given the alternate history and the year of the "Great War" being well beyond the era of some of these music... but it does fit in with that alternate-history 50s Americana vibe the games are throwing at you really well. They do a great job building the worlds to create a very interesting theme. Enjoy the game, I wish I could experience playing through New Vegas for the first time again.
