  1. What's plausible about it? No way someone can cross Putin like that and escape with his life without cutting some sort of deal, I don't for a second believe that Putin would allow this group of mercenaries that by all accounts is a far more effective fighting force than the actual Russian military fuck off to Belarus if they didn't have some kind of weird plan. Then there's Putin making his own comments about Poland and their involvement in Ukraine. It just seems we're at the next step of Russia escalating things because they've backed themselves into a corner but can't afford to make themselves appear weaker than they already have. But the last time Wagner forces encountered NATO forces in Syria, it was an absolute slaughter for the Wagner soldiers. Do they really want to take on Poland, who can probably wipe the floor with them without having the remaining NATO allies? Is Russia trying to take the world to the brink of WW3 and then back down from it and claim they saved humanity from nuclear Armageddon? Is Putin trying to retire but he knows dictators can't really retire, so he's trying to end up with his own St. Helena Napoleon scenario where he can live in exile without worry of the next Russian autocrat coming after his wealth? I'm not one to kink shame, but she looks like Hilary Clinton with botched plastic surgery.
  2. Barca & Real Madrid probably. Tbf though Bayern are just the German version of those 2 clubs.
  3. Lukashenko ‘struggling to keep Wagner troops from attacking Poland’ what are these morons up to now?
  4. @Bluewolf do you have the Thin Lizzy live album, Live and Dangerous. That album is so fucking good.
  5. Didn’t Porto sign Grujic after 2 years on loan with them? I think they probably got fair value for him tbh The others… tbh I still think Neco Williams is a very good player, but yeah those fees for what we sold are hilarious. I think City are cheats, but them selling off academy players at relatively high fees doesn’t surprise me at all. They’ve got a good academy with a huge reputation, getting players to try to be ready to play with the first team. Big clubs and small clubs have to pay a bit extra when all parties involved agree that the player has potential to be worth much more than they’re currently worth.
  6. However long I've been working where I work now is the longest I've worked for one company.
  7. BRICS is an economic union, NATO’s a military alliance. NATO exists to stop Russian expansion. Expansion like what Russia’s trying in Ukraine after a Russian puppet was forced out of government and Putin couldn’t stand to see Ukraine see a brighter economic future with less reliance on Russia? For all this talk of NATO escalating… it’s really been Russia that’s escalated countries wanting to join NATO with this invasion. Are you saying no former USSR states deserve sovereignty because they were part of the expansionist Soviet Union & before that:.. colonised by Imperial Russia? Quite frankly that’s an insane view and people living in a place can the right to sovereignty and self-determination.
  8. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/12920917/danny-drinkwater-keen-on-leicester-city-return-after-year-out-of-football Danny Drinkwater wants to return to Leicester to help them achieve promotion. If Leicester take him up on that, and are willing to pay anyone else £50-60k a week to be shit at football... tell them to give me a call. I'll probably turn up to training drunk less often than Drinkwater too.
  9. Georgia's roided out congresswoman shared pictures of Hunter Biden's penis with Congress today.
  10. I too remember when the US invaded and annexed Crimea. Oh... wait...
  11. I've only played one of the games (I don't remember which one) as a kid and I remember it being really fun. I also remember not understanding the story at all and finding some mechanics of the game to be weird/hilarious. I know it's a beloved series, I just never really got into it too much... dunno why.
  12. So I'd never watched The Sopranos before. I just finished Season 3 last night. That show is really really good. Probably should have watched this decades ago
  13. I love stealth games. The first couple of Splinter Cell games I remember I really liked (although I don't think I ever finished the second one). I never heard of Nobody's Left, but now I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm not sure I agree with any of the Payday games being stealthy though - you can attempt being stealthy, but it's really easy to fuck up and have it all go to shit - I always have found going in guns blazing like an idiot is the best strategy in those games.
  14. I think Leicester is the exact sort of club that would be good to send any promising young player too tbh. They've got high expectations for a championship side (expected to come right up), they've got a manager that's tied to the success of Pep Guardiola's most successful campaign in England - so you'd assume they'll play some of the most progressive football in the championship - it should be a decent experience for a player hoping to prove they can fit in at a club with high expectations.
  15. He takes a while to get back into form after his spells on the sidelines, so it's a bit frustrating tbh. Basically as soon as he's played himself into form again, the next injury is any second away.
  16. Keita already out for a few weeks after taking a knock. @nudge - get used to this, it's mental how often he gets injured. One time he left the match in a stretcher but it turned out all he had wrong with him was a bruise... so I dunno how much of it is in his head and how much is legitimate, but this guy's constantly injured nowadays.
  17. I think it makes sense getting rid of Ampadu considering his development was neglected and at this point it's better for all parties involved to have him get a permanent move elsewhere. Now he'll be at a club full time, they've got incentive to develop him the best they can. Chelsea get some cash for the work they put in developing him, to go along with those other loan fees and can look more to the future with their development plans with younger players. I think it'll be much better for Chelsea in the long run to focus on properly developing players. Operating like a normal football club wasn't for Abramovich and his methods did work... but I'm not sure they're really sustainable long term. And Chelsea have a top tier academy - shifting focus to properly develop players into first team players for Chelsea should mean more players coming through with a pathway into the first team... and the players that don't make it at Chelsea probably will still remain just as profitable (if not moreso) when they eventually are sold. To me it's the strangest thing about Chelsea's short-term focused planning. The Chelsea academy is actually great - it has been for a long time, it could have been used a lot better and then I think Abramovich's money may have been more efficient at bringing success to Chelsea... and it was already pretty fucking efficient.
  18. Doesn't that sort of go hand in hand with how Chelsea's academy has operated as a revenue source to fund high profile players? With the way the academy is built up to develop players well enough to get decent money for him, loaning him out to whoever pays the highest fee rather than concerning themselves with his development sort of fits right in with how that view of the role of the academy for the club.
  19. Poor Bernie Sanders getting lumped in with those two… You may think you’ve seen trends of Nazi-ism with that ridiculous list, meanwhile I’ve seen a guy flying a swastika from the back of his Toyota Tacoma and seen a white nationalist flag hung from a bridge over an interstate highway. So we’re talking about different things. Also Russia wasn’t getting robbed blind by Europe or the US, it’s been robbed by Putin and his oligarchs. They could have had a diverse economy once the USSR fell, they chose to run themselves as Europes petrol station and domestically their economy was run like the mafia. Their war is an imperialist war and it’s only gone on for as long as it has because Russia felt emboldened by the pretty dampened response they got when they tried this same shit before in Georgia and in Crimea. You’re right the US is imperialistic but you’re blinkered if you don’t think the exact same as China, who’re engaging in their own heavy economic imperialism… or Russia who are pretty overtly trying some obvious old school imperialism.
  20. Nah if I’m calling someone a Nazi it’s because they’re pushing a neo-Nazi agenda. I also think you can make the case that both China and Russia, with the expansionist European war & the internment of Uighurs, are doing at least a bit of what the Nazis did. But that’s not what I’m talking about. Twitter’s become a safe space for far right nut jobs promoting white nationalism. It’s turned loads of advertisers and users from Twitter. Also making the blue checkmarks virtually meaningless & promoting posts from people who’ve paid just generally reduced the overall quality of content on Twitter. And it was Twitter so quality content was rare.
  21. It’s got way less traffic and way more Nazis than it had before, so it’s certainly looking a lot worse of a social media site to me. RFK’s just come out and said he thinks COVID 19 was engineered to avoid killing Chinese people and Ashkenazi Jews, absolute nutter.
  22. Lmao the deep state made Elon Musk ruin Twitter and let Zuckerberg seize the moment with a competing product is one of the funnier political takes in a while
  23. Why would I trust an attorney on youtube to be accurate? It's not exactly a career known for being made up of honest people & it's not like YouTube channels have any type of editorial/journalistic standards
