  1. I think it becomes a constitutional question, so the Supreme Court would decide. And because this is an overtly partisan supreme court, it's basically a given that the supreme court will side with him - so yes, probably.
  2. Bloody paywalls and The Athletics' somehow managed to disable 12ft.io
  3. Imagine waiting decades to come back up to the premier league to be a shadow of your former glory (not that their last season in the top flight before going down and being lost in the wilderness was anything to write home about, but for decades under Clough they were one of the top sides in the league then) only to have it all built on a house of cards. I feel for their fans tbh, it looks like they may be spending a long time struggling again after this.
  4. I want him in trial and sentenced as soon as possible, personally. He's the clear front runner for the GOP because the base of the party has lost all sense of sanity.
  5. Guy in charge of hijab enforcement in Iran caught on video having gay sex apparently. I'm not usually one for the brutality of the Iranian government's draconian penalties... but this guy getting the harshest treatment possible would be some delicious irony.
  6. I think we're probably going to be pretty weak defending against counterattacks though. It's tough to say how good of a side we'll be when there's big question marks over who's going to be playing as a defensive midfielder and can we count on Virgil and Konate staying fit enough to avoid relying on Matip or Gomez for too long (and realistically... we can't rely on either of those 2 being fit for very long).
  7. Melissa Reddy (who used to be quite reliable for us until she took the job at Sky and I think as a result, lost some contacts at the club) seems to think we're in for both Lavia and Andre (the Brazilian lad) as well as a CB. Also after watching Amrabat play for Fiorentina a few times the past season... I'm not sure he's going to be a great option for the way we play. He looked brilliant for Morocco, but at Fiorentina he looked incredibly hit or miss and is sometimes just so pedestrian. If Fabinho was frustrating last season, I'm not sure Amrabat's an upgrade on the performances we got from him last season.
  8. Tbh I'd have given it to Robertson over Virgil or Trent because I think they can be a bit sulky when things aren't going their way and I'm not sure that's the best example to set as a captain. But Trent's always going to know what the club means from a fans perspective and will take it seriously and Virgil's respected and has leadership qualities and experience that probably make him the best man for the job. And I trust that Klopp knows better than I do.
  9. Free meals (and piss ups!) for incompetent arseholes who've spent over a decade running the country into the fucking toilet, but if poor kids need free meals... they can go fuck themselves and starve while they're fucking themselves. It's just an utterly corrupt clown show & I've got no faith in the electorate to bring even a fraction of sanity back to UK politics. It's a bit fucked when I think the state of UK politics is possibly worse than US politics considering US politics is an absolute fucking circus.
  10. That's probably just because you've been spoiled for depth for the last however many years - I think City are still favourites for the title this season even with the many departures. You've got lots of depth still and one of the best academies to draw young homegrown players into the first team as squad players. Obviously the more established your depth players are, the better that is for you (and the worse it is for the rest of the league) - but I still think you're in quite a comfy position going into this season.
  11. Eh... they're just training matches mate, I really don't think you can draw too many inferences from them.
  12. hasn't he been made surplus to requirements? I wonder how much they want for him, I would have thought they'd be keen to get a decent fee and his wages off the books
  13. Dunno if Mussolini ever supplied Hitler's forces with something they'd come to rely on in the war though, so weirdly more competent than Mussolini... despite being an incompetent fool. It would be great if Khamenei would have the same fate Mussolini and his family had though, I don't think there's anyone in the world more deserving of an undignified, disrespectful, and brutal death tbh.
  14. Bit like Putin and Xi & Khamenei.
  15. On paper it hurts Spurs, but from a business standpoint getting £100m for him is ideal compared to losing him on a free next season I think. I dunno what kind of expectations or pressures are on the new manager, but you can make the argument that this does lower expectations for Spurs a bit. However, if I'm Levy or anyone at Spurs... I can't help but feel worried about the potential for the atmosphere turning pretty toxic pretty quickly given the likelihood of: Spurs' talisman leaving the club, the increase in ticket prices despite the decrease in performances on the pitch over the past few years, and appointing a potentially very good manager... but one who's relatively untested at this level. And it seems like it took him a while to get things going at Celtic before it became clear he was a good manager. I'd hope that if he does get off to a slow start in his tenure at the manager and things do get a bit toxic... the toxicity is directed at Levy and the board, rather than the manager who's walking into a pretty tough situation.
  16. I assume this is our backup rightback option for the season considering we let the Scottish lad we signed from Aberdeen last year go on loan after his miserable time with injury last season. Doubt we spend more money if we can bring Lavia in, unfortunately. But I do think we're in pretty desperate need of a new CB considering Virgil's not been the same player he was since Pickford decided to try to remove his kneecaps and our other CB options are very very very injury prone.
  17. Not sure it's possible to hate United too much I think in this instance though, I hate modern football more than I hate United. I think these pre-season tours to milk global fans are disgusting tbh. Training matches didn't need to be turned into money spinning exercises. These clubs used to mean more to the communities that they represent but every year that goes by they're really just cash cows for the billionaires who own them and become increasingly detached from their communities. Young people and the working class fans that are the backbone of home and away support increasingly priced out of attending matches. The push for things like super leagues, after already fucking over grassroots football in 1992 with the breakaway. The rampant commerciality of football at the expense of properly representing the communities these clubs originally represented. It's all just in the pursuit of greed. Like you say, that Real Madrid friendly should have been a big red flag to the United fans in San Diego... but the marketing was pretty dishonest, I won't lie. Talking about how the world famous Man Utd were coming and featuring pictures and video of the stars that play week-in-week-out for the United first team. Again, in my personal opinion... paying money to see a training match where the ultimate goal is to bring players to match fitness is stupid and I don't think anyone should be doing that. But I think @Devil's got a point in it being pretty dishonest and taking advantage of fans living in a high cost of living area to get as much money from them as possible to watch kids and Evans get beaten by Wrexham.
  18. Nah I don't really have any sympathy... and not just because I hated Man Utd lol. Pre-season friendlies are just basically glorified training sessions that imo should go back to be played behind closed doors like they were back in the day, but they won't because they're now used as an opportunity to milk overseas fans for as much money as they can. I don't think it's particularly useful for the players to have fans there or for fans to make too many inferences about what's going on with their team from the results of those friendlies. I think fans should know this and should know that when they're buying their ticket they're basically just accepting they're getting milked for all they can be milked for. United are basically pioneers in milking a global fanbase for all their worth, so I'm not in the least bit surprised. And tbh, fans should probably have been aware considering there was a friendly with Real Madrid in Texas around the same time... and obviously for first team players, playing against Real Madrid is a better training exercise than playing against fucking Wrexham. These fans basically just paid a premium because of the United name and the fact that Wrexham are owned by a Hollywood star that got his team famous in the states because of that TV show they've got.
  19. Lol the advertisements for it were hilarious though because they made it seem like it would be a heavyweight fight between two European powerhouses. But it's just Ryan Reynolds' league 2 side vs. kids & Jonny Evans. Created a load of traffic (not United's fault, it's SDSU's fault for making the entrance/exit to the stadium worse than it was when it was still an NFL stadium - the stadium's shite too despite being basically brand new. Not looking forward to going when the city finally gets it's MLS team tbh) and absolutely ripped off the people who went to attend. I've got no sympathy for fans who got ripped off to see overseas friendlies tbh. They should all know they're just getting milked for all they can be asked to pay.
  20. Is there a porn parody called Wanking Dead? If not, why not?
  21. Worked out okay for Russia in the long-run in WW2 didn't it? People even forgot about the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.
  22. I don't even think Poland needs to invoke NATO to give Wagner, Belarus, or even Russia a hard time in response to any attacks. I think Wagner would also need to worry about the fact there's UK and US troops stationed in Poland, attack the wrong bases and they could be biting off way more they can chew. I just don't see what kind of end-game they'd be working towards by doing that, unless he's trying to push for Prigozhin to get killed in Poland.
