Paced the innings well. Maharaj was very economical but we've let him just bowl his overs out and bided our time. Good options left to attack if we were to lose a wicket or two.
  4. Nicknamed Cruella for a reason. What a vile bitch she is. Thankfully it seems more and more people are turning to see just how vile and tapped in the head she is.
  5. Barring a non-league miracle, we are looking good...
  6. Very unlikely though and I don't see why it would be announced now...
  7. My first thought was England men's manager after the Euros...
  8. Emma Hayes leaving Chelsea at end of the season. 'to pursue opportunity outside or WSL and club football'... Odd timing!

  11. Game 57 had a goal close to half-time (43rd minute) but there were no winners. And just a solitary winner for Game 58, whose first goal was in the 16th minute: 1 point Table after Game 58: Just the one point addition to @Lucas' tally and therefore he moves up one place into 7th.

Rauf broke the record for most runs conceded in an ODI World Cup match (85). Afridi broke the record about 15 minutes later...
  13. Sounds like it. I don't deny that there needs to be a culture of discipline back into the club, but it appears it starts way above the players for that culture to change. Players will be scapegoats. Just how it is. But the media don't half make mountains out of molehills with some players.
  14. Yeah that pissed me off reading about it. The guy is celebrating his birthday ffs. He's not a robot! Ten Hag didn't need to call it unacceptable. Shouldn't have even been an issue and he's made it a bigger thing saying that. Doubt there'd have been so much uproar if they were doing well...
  15. Couple of FA Cup choices. Both League One home opposition against quite lower non-league sides. No doubt one or both of these will be on the receiving end of a cupset
  16. I was ready for a Nudge-shaped resurgence when I saw you were with Bayern. Shortlived!
  17. Does anyone else think it's absolutely mad that, considering what Jews went through nearly 80 years ago, Israel has gone full circle and become a proper genocidal, Nazi-esque, ethnically-cleansing state? I know there are Jews that want themselves and Palestinians to live harmoniously, but it staggers me that Israel as a country can go through with the same actions as what some of their elder generations suffered from at the hands of another Nazi state back then?!

Old enough to remember that phenomenal series! Think I went to one of the days in the 3rd Test. Cricket remains extremely popular but I don't think as much as back then, especially for Test cricket sadly. The emergency of the shorter format of T20 and then increased 50-Over games has meant the lure of test cricket has decreased. And I hope to god The Hundred tournament is binned. That's another nail in the coffin for traditionalist side of cricket. It's still massive though like you say. Series like the latest Ashes almost reinvigorated it. Coverage is different now too - predominantly only on Sky or TNT now so it's limited, whereas I believe that 2005 series was on free-to-air.

Well that's not true. Rugby World Cup is over, just in time for when the group stage concludes and the knockout's are shortly due to commence. APpreciate that rugby is much bigger, but SA are doing their country proud in performing like they have done so far, and not choked like previously. Just because you don't have the interest or enthusiasm doesn't mean others don't. Each of the countries you mention have lots of support for cricket. It most definitely is not India that only cares about cricket, even though they may be the biggest cricketing country. The format has dragged, and perhaps it does need to be changed, but it's actually opened it up more for the smaller countries to succeed. Before the tournament would you have given Afghanistan or Netherlands a chance of qualifying at this stage of the tournament? Also, try saying that a Rugby World Cup to the fans 4 years ago in England. Fans seemed to love cricket back then...
