  1. One of our highly rated youngsters, Will Alves, who made his debut against MK Dons a few days ago, was on the receiving end of a horror tackle in a youth game against Wolves. Caden Voice apparently said that he 'meant it' when doing this tackle. Disgusting and disgraceful if so. Should be banned for ages given the intent and far excessive force used.
  2. That Arctic Storm heading over the US right now looks insane. Temperatures potentially hitting -40c in some places...

I've sneezed so much today I've strained various muscles in my ribs.
  4. No idea. Too much time on my hands.
  5. Same A lightsaber is a fictional energy sword featured throughout the Star Wars franchise. A typical lightsaber is depicted as a luminescent plasma blade about 3 feet (0.91 m) in length emitted from a metal hilt around 10.5 inches (27 cm) in length.[1] First introduced in the original Star Wars film,[a] it has since appeared in most Star Wars films, with at least one lightsaber duel occurring in each installment of the "Skywalker saga". The lightsaber's distinct appearance was created using rotoscoping for the original films, and with digital effects for the prequel and sequel trilogies.

Wouldn't say I've been bed-bound but I've had a cold/flu* for about 3 weeks now. Just lingers around and can't shift it. *it's manflu but worse, potentially.
  8. Well that's an odd angle to take in any sense. Quite clear what 'ethnic background' means and is quite a common term.

Yep, push enough in a polite but frank and direct way and they'll take some action. I've learnt that it's not really fair to be abusive or rude in emails to them. Hopefully whoever you deal with will see that you're just a customer who wants to help a relative out, and you're not someone who's asking for the world and spouting your mouth off in a fit of rage to someone at the other end of the phone or computer.

Jesus, sorry to hear that for your mother-in-law @Bluewolf. What an absolute palaver on all aspects. Shame the Fire Brigade didn't know about the key, surprised they didn't just bring it down with a big red key. I'm amazed Kingston Council say it takes over a month to get a lock sorted! I'm guessing she's in rented accommodation by the sounds of it. I'd persist with speaking to them and constantly letting on to them it's a safeguarding issue for a frail, physically vulnerable lady who clearly has care needs before the fall has even happened. That's obscene to think it takes best part of 28 working days to get a lock change. I work in housing albeit not for a local authority, but there's bound to be a department that can arrange for emergency lock changes within 24 hrs. Shocked if there isn't. And given its a communal block, it's their responsibility to ensure the safety of the block and get a fix in within a certain time of it being reported. Alternatively, I'd get the flat door lock fixed yourself to a better standard with a better function, and then stick a complaint in and ask for you to be reimbursed. You're well within you're rights. While you're at it, let them know you'll be taking it to the Housing Ombudsman if they don't reply or repair in a more reasonable time.
  11. Yeah that was a good one. It's funny seeing the reactions from everyone.
  12. Did miss it or was Hamilton not involved?
