We seem to loan them to the Championship, they show they're good enough for the Championship, then stay good enough for the Championship - Robinson is the most recent example of a player who had a bit of hype around him last summer. Then you've got all the Garbutts, Galloways, Dowells, Lundstrams over the years who were amongst the best in the club and national youth teams and just hit a brick wall at that sort of Championship level.

All of the above. I'd expect him to be around half a second off Max and gradually close in. The rest of the gap is down to it being too soon to deal with the pressure mentally in my opinion and possibly a few technical things like not being suited to this year's car/tyres. Maybe the Red Bull is hard to adapt to which is giving Max a further head start. Really enjoyed the match, and as far as I understand, Murray is going to attempt a return in singles later in the year as well. Serena was on fire in that match. Doubles is always good fun but without the big names it isn't quite the same in terms of atmosphere and interest.
