  1. Decided to finally dive into The Journey to the West... I'm familiar with the story as I've read Waley's abridged translation (Monkey) and seen a few TV adaptations but after playing Jade Empire I thought it's time to explore the full text of the classic. Volume I coming up... Three more in the queue.
  2. Talking about RPGs - found this infographic today. Quite a nice overview. https://unleashthegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/best-rpgs-infographic-list.jpg

So does @ASF to be honest...
  4. Which one are you using now? I had tried NordVPN briefly in the past but found it buggy and the UI of its app felt kind of unresponsive and it offered limited advanced options. The speeds left a lot to be desired too. And now this... I've been using ExpressVPN now for a while after trying most of the popular ones.
  5. Haha. My point was, most women looking for men in a pub aren't exactly looking for a long-term dating & relationship, just like most men who look for women there aren't either. So it's a fair exchange for both parties and therefore serves it's purpose. It's not my thing at all anyway
  6. That's kind of the point of looking for an easy "date" in a pub I'd say
  7. Read this as dating instead darting and was a bit confused for a while
  8. Nooooooooo! I completed Jade Empire already It's actually one of the very few games that I actually managed to finish; I usually abandon most of them after a while as it fails to hold my interest. But this one was a completely different case... Everything about it was perfect to me - the story, the gameplay, the combat, the dialogues, even the side quests (I know I said most of that already in my previous post but that's just how much I loved it haha). i love how easy it is to get into and there's no steep learning curve so it's easy for a casual gamer like me to just chill and enjoy it. The whole mythological angle as well as bits and pieces of eastern philosophy & teachings woven into the story were particularly great and the setting made the game pretty unique I think (but then I'm a sucker for East Asian mythology and culture). Seriously this was probably the first game where I got really emotionally invested in the story and actually cared for the characters from the start until the very end. Also Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontlebottom must be the best side character ever The only negative - it's too short Took me 16 hours to complete the game (I definitely missed some side quests though as the necropolis with it's ghosts annoyed me a bit and I was excited for the main story to progress) and the ending felt a bit rushed so I'd say that the pacing is a bit off. I also suspect that for some the game might be too easy (many ways to "break" the game by using certain styles in combat) but I personally like it that way because I want to enjoy the story instead of getting frustrated at failing missions and losing fights again and again But that's just minor flaws really anyway. The major problem - now I want more And now I also realised that were was never a sequel or a reboot made Easily one of my personal favourites now. Actually on the top of my hypothetical list of my favourite games ever; I even liked it more than both KOTOR games. Really happy I asked @Dr. Gonzo for recommendation and even happier he came up with it but now I have a new problem - I want something similar...
  9. Oh I'm not surprised; I just love to see that! Motorsports, science, space and technology are pretty much my main interests bar photography so it's always nice to see others who appreciate it as well. They probably banned Seb from entering the premises exactly because they're afraid of that
  10. I love how so many people related to F1/motorsports are always running to NASA when they get a chance
  11. An interesting read about Keisuke Honda's involvement with the Cambodian football: https://www.theasiangame.net/honda-driving-cambodia-forward/ Good to see he and Dalmas are trying to build a lasting legacy and improve football in the country as well as give opportunities to talented kids. I was skeptical when he was appointed at first but I must say I love the approach now. Bar that loss to Iran, they've also looked much better lately than what I was used to seeing in the past.
  12. “I think this year has been… it’s a real challenge to go up against a driver that’s been spoken so highly of by so many people and built up onto a pedestal." Ah Lewis taking digs at Max again
  13. Yeah a few months now but can't wait to go back to be honest
  14. Not sure I'll still be in Europe by then... But keep me updated.
  15. Have been playing Jade Empire as per @Dr. Gonzo's recommendation. Have really really enjoyed it so far - and I'm only in the Chapter Two haha. The story line, the setting, the music and the characters are superb. I also like the real time combat system a lot; definitely prefer it to the one used in KOTOR. Didn't expect that much depth from the game world; love how it's based on "oriental" mythology too.
  16. When are we going then?
  17. Yeah I can't imagine him not having a drive next season. We currently have a nice bunch of talented young drivers coming up; it's good to see. Either way I wish there were more teams and more seats available as so much talent just gets ignored due to limited number of seats... And I'm craving for a Döner now. ffs.
  18. I posted a long-ish post about it at the time when Alex got promoted so I'll just copy paste the part of it re: Albon vs Kvyat: "Also it doesn't surprise me one bit that Red Bull are putting Albon in the car instead of Kvyat for the rest of the season. They already know all they need about Kvyat whereas Alex still is a bit of enigma and this is a perfect chance to compare all of their drivers in order to make an informed decision for 2020. If Albon performs better than Gasly did, he should get the seat next year. If he performs at the same level as Gasly did, Red Bull will know they have to look for another driver for next season. Gasly was miserably slow in a Red Bull, Kvyat wasn't convincingly beating Albon in a Toro Rosso despite having 4-5 years more experience in F1; it will be very interesting to see how they do against each other now. " Kvyat is just filling a seat at Toro Rosso until one of the Red Bull juniors is eligible for the Super License and makes it to F1 anyway. A bit unfair to him as I also think he's a good driver; that's why I think he should be looking for a drive outside of RB/TR in the near future.
  19. I have absolutely no clue about American Football but leading 31-0 is probably good, right? I was watching old F1 races for a while but just can't focus enough to care.
