Danny
This seems like a big move by a young but experienced owner, Sunderland are one of those clubs where if the investment is right they will have the foundations to do good things. A 49,000 seater stadium, one club city, a team that if they're doing well can catch the hearts and minds of fans around the world. It's a good investment if the owner is right. Interesting though that he didn't try to buy Newcastle who are clearly the bigger and better proposition, maybe he fancies the challenge of Sunderland more? He was educated in Yorkshire, might have grew an affinity for the club?
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted February 18, 2021 Subscriber Share Posted February 18, 2021 Hopefully this is the start of a new dawn for Sunderland under their new billion-heir owner. The club is debt free and there will certainly be a sense of reserved optimism with Mackems now.

The removal of the salary cap should enable Sunderland to get out of League One if they don't go up this season.

Dave
Seems like Stewart Donald still has a % stake. It would be a shame if this young lad restores Sunderland pride with his wealth and Donald can sell his stake on a profit.
ScoRoss
Louis-Dreyfus ups his stake, Donald has his stake reduced, whilst Charlie Methven no longer has a stake. There will be no disco lights and night club anthems pre match then...

After reading about the Crypto Characters that Donald and Methven were due to sell shares too this sounds like the most suitable outcome.
