How the hell did Kane finish that?!

He didn't. Michael Keane did.

Coleman getting absolutely mauled for pace there. Why did it take us a million years to sign a right back who can actually run so we could not play him? 🤐

Ignore that. It was a cracking finish by  Keane.

This a personnel issue or did Lampard really not learn a thing all these months he's been out of a job?

Honestly don't know what any manager can do to fix problems like Coleman and Keane. Both been rubbish for Koeman, Silva, Ancelotti, Benitez and now Lampard. I will say Keane is particularly unsuited to what Lampard wants to do on the pitch. This is very much our 3rd and 4th choice centre back pairing with Mina and Godfrey out injured.

Coleman and Keane really shouldn't kick another ball for us after this season and Holgate and Kenny should only really be kept as squad players. Too much work for one transfer window though.

Just annoying as we were in the game and looked capable of competing then individual mistakes just set you back and ruin the confidence of the team that's been built up through the week's preparations and a decent start.

Also a complete lack of guile in the final third. Losing Rodriguez and Digne has been spoken about a lot but Sigurdsson was also a massive creative outlet last season that obviously hasn't been replaced and isn't mentioned as much for obvious reasons.

They'll probably be fine in the Championship

Realistically, a defeat here was more or less priced in. That was a completely unacceptable half from us though and we have to at least rescue some momentum in the second half.

I don't know what Lampard or any of our previous managers keep seeing on the training pitch to convince them otherwise but for the umpteenth time I'm watching our defence and just thinking how can the likes of Patterson, Mykolenko and Branthwaite not get a game ahead of the likes of Keane and Coleman because "they're not quite ready" or "they're being phased in" or "they need to be managed carefully". If they can't do better than what we've been witnessing from those two in particular, then why the actual christ have we signed any of them?
