Always fascinating how different the resumes  of the same match by two possers are written, if either poster is biased towards one of the opponents each.

I can well acknowledge a fair result but that was not the case today.

Damn, what a match against Bielefeld today. Even though we went down twice, I've never had the feeling that the team is giving up. What a great team spirit. Rouwen Hennings really is playing a great season so far.

Hi new to the forum. I am in two minds about the prospect of Holstein Kiel being promoted.

Being the firat team from Schleswig -Holstein to be in the Bundesliga as well as being champions before WW1!

On the other hand with the very likely relegation of both Koln and HSV their promotion and tiny stadium won't do much to help the Bundesliga retain top spot in average attendances in world leagues.

Hi and welcome to the forum! :)

It's incredible how well all the newly promoted teams are doing this season, and I, for one, would be happy to see Holstein Kiel as a representative of North Germany in the top tier next year instead of HSV  However, that would definitely bring quite a few headaches for the club, as their infrastructure and squad are definitely nowhere near of being good enough for the 1. Bundesliga; it might be a bit too big of a challenge after decades in lower leagues... If they manage to get promoted, it would be nothing short of sensational - at any case though, Kiel deserve respect and can be extremely happy with their season regardless of how it ends.

I would very much expect Kiel to do a Paderborn. But would hope otherwise.

You're probably right, the gap between established top division clubs and smaller province clubs from the lower leagues is just too big and will only get bigger in the future, it's mostly impossible for them to keep up... Paderborn's fall from grace is indeed a very good example.

Let us hope that The Bundesliga doesn't ever witness another SSV Ulm 1846 or a Blau-Weiss 90 Berlin. I suppose the fans may think one season of Bundesliga football is worth a plummet in comparison with years of respectable 2 Bundesliga performances.

I think it's just somewhat naive optimism and wishful thinking, hehe. It's easy to get carried away and misjudge the actual situation when your club has a few successful seasons in a row, the appetite grows with eating (not sure if that proverb exists in English xD )

  • 3 weeks later...

I dont know if it is crisis time yet in Dusseldorf-they are still first place-but two losses in a row.  But if it is, get me the Allofs Brothers!

So, the other question, would Holstein Kiel beat Wolfsburg in a two game knock out?

I was on a rescue mission, someone got lost...

Try and look at the same way you would if you saw some old person looking confused in a supermarket aisle who can't find the cornflakes that were there last week where the nappies are now and you will see that Nudges gesture was a sympathetic one... Surprised she didn't escort me to Security and have a call put out...
