She makes up hundreds of things, then if one is accurate she'll claim she's some sort of inside source.
Dr. Gonzo Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Ironically, project veritas is mostly bullshit as well. O'Keefe has been sued (civily and criminally) and lost several times for editing videos to be misleading. It's not like CNN would know anyways - unless CNN has a man on the FBI investigation & Mueller's special prosecutor. I think Trump's panicked tweets paint a better picture tbh.
Panflute Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 That guy is a CNN producer saying these things. I don't care who filmed it. It confirms what everybody should already know: that journalism is a business venture that has little to do with truth-seeking.
Dr. Gonzo Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Does this have to do with this? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/three-resign-from-cnn-after-russia-story-retraction/ar-BBDiEMf?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp Also it's pretty obvious these giant cable news organisations are a business venture - which is why journalistic standards are important. And because we've let them slip because of things like blogs and YouTube providing "alternative" news sources - many of which don't have fact checking or verifying anything about the truth, the big media companies have watered down the news. That's pretty obvious. They've created a situation where a lot of people don't know what is real news or what isn't real news. The only thing that can fix it now is regulating the media. And if the media is regulated, they and their advertisers will scream about how we're impacting their free speech. But if you're trying to pass off the entire Russia thing as bullshit - which that video was doing - that's just as misleading. Because if there was nothing in the Russia investigation, then innocent parties would let the investigation run it's course. Not try to impede it and publicly attack it whenever possible. And if an innocent party is doing those things and is truly innocent - then they have questionable judgment at best.
Harry Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I generally agree with you but the way issues are politicised these days there is enough bad press from any investigation now that it will do huge reputational damage whether true or not. People don't fully appreciate just how damaged hillary clinton was by some of the investigations against her regardless of that nothing came of it. People who didn't understand or know anything else about her or politics just knew that Ben Gah Zee and that that was a very bad thing. How many times was that issue investigated and how much damage did it do?

Fuck Hillary Clinton, she can only blame herself for being a terrible candidate and campaigner.

As is the fact CNN imposed tighter regulations on Russia-related news in the wake of their retraction. I no longer care for Trump and even if the Russia story is true I wouldn't give a single damn, but so far all the evidence is circumstancial at best.

Fairy In Boots Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Haha CNN are falling apart Van Jones has been caught saying the Russia story is a big "nothing burger" fake news.
Dr. Gonzo Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 What information do CNN personnel have that the producer of CNN health and a crap talking head are more certain than the FBI there is nothing in this? Today the FBI have interviewed employees of a Russian cybersecurity firm https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/fbi-interviews-employees-russia-linked-cyber-security-firm-kaspersky-lab-n777571 And from the US Senate Intelligence Committee 5/11/17: Marco Rubio: Would any of you be comfortable with the Kaspersky Lab software on your computers? Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe: A resounding no, from me. CIA Director Mike Pompeo: No. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats: No, Senator. NSA Director Adm. Michael S. Rogers: No, sir. Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart (USMC): No, Senator. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Director Robert Cardillo: No, sir.
Panflute Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Wow, that's the smoking gun. Putin will never recover from this.
Dr. Gonzo Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 2 hours ago, Panflute said: Wow, that's the smoking gun. Putin will never recover from this. Nobody knows what the smoking gun will be, or even if one exists at all (which I know you don't believe in). There is an ongoing investigation by the FBI and a special counselor. These are the people who are best in the position to comment as to whether there is legitimacy behind the investigation. Saying that the whole thing is bullshit, despite the fact these investigations are ongoing, doesn't seem productive. Nor does insisting that the investigation will come to the conclusion that there was Russian collusion. And even if Putin is behind the entire thing, and Russia gets it's economy squeezed even tighter as a result, it's not like he won't recover from anything. It's not like the people he's going up against are going to poison him with polonium.
