Maddison out. Sounds like he'll be out for a while, seeing a specialist in London apparently for an injury that's different to that from the World Cup :what:.

I hope we go 2 up top but it's not what Rodgers does against teams that are better. He'll sit back and try and contain, hit on the break. But we don't really have the players - only Barnes/Daka with any real pace to do so. We don't have much creativity aside from Maddison and Barnes. Tielemans is, but he plays deep these days.

I can only see a very convincing Liverpool win. Perhaps 3-0 again, or 4-0. We've got a soft underbelly, weak in the mind and on the pitch. We'll barely lay a finger on Liverpool, and even if we do it'll be when the game is over and Liverpool just coast and take their foot off the gas.

I bet you score at least one goal - but I hope not.

Leicester fans and Rogers will want a reaction to the last game.  if Leicester can get their tails up for it, they have enough quality to trouble Liverpool.

they should be looking to put as many crosses in from the right.   Trent was 100% to blame for Villa's goal by ball watching.   Liverpool are not the same team, they are older and slower and Leicester should get chances, it will matter not if Leicester put on an amateur display of defending.

Genuinely expecting 4-0 or 5-0 by half-time.

You can't be that bad.

But hey if you are, maybe you can do us a favour and get some of our players feeling confident for the new year... and maybe we can do you a favour and get Rodgers sacked.

You didn't see us against Newcastle then...?

And as much as I loved the run we went on before the World Cup, the run before that was horrendous with equally bad defending - teams cut through us like a knife cuts through butter.

Salah, Nunez, Firmino in attack will do the same.

It's a miracle if we don't concede, genuinely.

If we've not improved from how we did against Newcastle, especially in the first moments of the match, we'll have no hope.

I did not see you against Newcastle, but also aren't Newcastle one of the most in form teams in the league right now?

Precisely. We didn't put up a fight against them. It was embarrassing the first 10-15 minutes.

Having watched ourselves, and then you against Villa where you had a pretty lively start, the team-talk for Klopp to your team is pretty easy.

'Get in their faces early, make them feel nervous and intimidated, start fast and get an early goal. They're weak if you press them high and have more energy than them. They will shit themselves!'

You think Rodgers can turn it around or do you think you're just having your own version of when he had run out of ideas with us? It seems like your owners want to persist with him... but I'm not sure why tbh. At this stage with us it would go from some appalling performances and results to a false dawn that looks like the form is finally turning around... then back to appalling performances in longer stretches.

Idk what it is about him, but imo he's a good manager for short term boosts in form - but not building a club up in the long term. I think we've talked about this before tbh xD and we said Italy might be a good league for him because there managers are really just expected to perform in the short term and they tend not to stick around at one club for too long.

It's a weird one though because I do think he's a good manager... he's just got some flaws that become very apparent once he's gotten "comfortable" at a side.

Yeah we're getting absolutely mullered tonight.

Soumare shouldn't be starting after the shit-show against Newcastle. Soumare will be dizzy from all the rings Thiago and Elliott will run round him.

Tielemans dropped. Daka isolated by himself against 2 mountaints in Matip/Van Dijk. Gonna be a long night...

Not really, I think he bought himself a bit more time with that pre-WC run, but it's just prolonging the inevitable.

Seems like our own version, yeah. Just ambling and meandering a long. A few wins here, some deserved beatings there. Just 'meh' all over the shop.

I think you're right - a manager that comes in to galvanise a team who have been shit, but then gets too comfortable and his stubbornness shows because when he/the team gets found out, he doesn't change things up and doesn't think of something new.

He's a good coach when he wants to be. But doesn't appear to want to, or like to, adapt. The flaws are devastating and disruptive. Buys players that don't seem to fit, but ones he thinks he can work with. Just buys a few squad fillers to have 'depth' but then doesn't play them anyway.

If he was more flexible/adaptable... and learned from his mistakes he'd be a top manager imo. Not just a good manager, but probably one of the best on the continent - because when things are good with him, they look very good.

But the fact that you've basically described every flaw he had with us when I think it was clear to a lot of LFC fans that the writing was on the wall with his tenure. Honestly, if Poch is available and interested... I think Leicester need to be working to make that happen ASAP.

It's a shame really because these concerns were clearly observed a very long time ago. The mitigating circumstances being COVID break and injury records. But recruitment and forming a depressing lack of identity after a such a strong beginning is a big disappointment.

The credit in the bank of European participation and an FA Cup wears thin, if it hasn't already worn out.

I agree there needs to be a change. We can't carry on being so stale. We need some life injected into the club.
