Mansfield miss out on a play-off place by 1 solitary goal. Salford lost, but Mansfield only won 2-0. They've gone 8 games without one, 5pts out of a possible 28. That's a shocking run of form, it truly is and kinda mirrors last season when they fell away from 5th with about 8 games to go. Part of me was always curious to see them come up, especially for the West Ham/Chelsea games and the carnage that'd bring, but equally, no, fuck 'em. It's just a shame for Blackburn it counts for nothing. I'm still hoping Coventry and Robbins does it, but Sunderland have that 'last one in, go all the way' vibe about them. They'd have a lot of 'fans' come out the woodwork if they got promoted that would take away anything they achieve on the pitch pretty quickly. So I'm quite glad they're not being promoted. I'm happy to see any of the four teams in the playoffs be a part of the Premier League next season. They all feel fresh and will hopefully make a good contribution.
