deal stalled because PIF didn't want to pay more upfront but now seem more willing to after seeing we might walk away from the deal if they don't increase how much they pay up front, it seems. Cheap fuckers, they've basically got an endless pit of money and want to pretend like the world knows they don't xD

well,  just because you have Money doesn't mean you should be exploited, smart people always look to make better deals

Do your knees ever hurt twerking for the Saudis 24/7?

it works for anyone who is rich.  they are rich because they don't throw money away for the sake of it.

it's negotiations because both sides negotiate on terms.  they proposed terms and Liverpool don't accept.  thats how it goes sometimes.   that doesn't make them cheap, there may be a reason why they structured the deal that way.

That didn’t answer his question

on the contrary it was a response to a response from the original question.   I also used generic rich people not wealthy Arabs.  for instance Levy is regarded as cheap, while it may be frugal.

The answer is the same, being rich doesn't mean you should overpay or negotiate better terms

they also appear to be short term deals.  off setting transfer fees to pay more wages as the cost is spread over 1 or 2 seasons

Yeah 3 years for a 34 year is real fucking short term.

Careful with arthritis though

Ah that means they're not mega-super-fucking rich because it's short-term deals.

Stop the press everyone. They're short team deals. Panic over.

Milinkovic Savic was subject to 60-70m transfers to some of Europe's contenders, he was sold for 40m.   Like everyone else they try sign  player for lesser money and then give him more wages.  They also have to pay more wages to entice players to that league.

you were prepared to accept 40m  but disagree on structure.  I would say anyone wanting to spend 40m on Fabinho is mad anyways.

Not necessarily, but like with FFP where you can only spend up to 80% of your revenue, if you want more transfer funds you can lower your wages or conversely set off against transfer funds to increase wages to stay in that window.

we don't know what the money levels are at those clubs but it is not like they have billions in the account either.  the teams still mostly comprise of Saudi players with a handful of stars.   for that reason they look to get best transfer value to pay players more, which they have to do to attract the player.

outside the mbappe bid the transfer fees haven't been outlandish, 40m for Savic and Mane is hardly world breaking

These Liverpool players obviously aren't in favour of Liverpool supporting Singapore over hanging people...

I'm against us having friendlies in Singapore too tbh. Awful government they've got there.

Saudi clubs aren't subject to FFP & the clubs aren't paying these high profile players wages.

Are you sure?

£50m on Ruben Neves.

£60m on Malcom.

Outlandish for me.
