Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted September 11, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted September 11, 2017 I would say he should only get 1 game when it was clearly unintentional. Only problem is is that players routinely get three games for mistiming a normal challenge and unintentionally going studs up on someone's shin or foot, it's not really on to say Mane only gets one game when he's done the same thing but it's ended up in someone's face instead. Really, both scenarios should only result in 1 game if it is as clear an accident as Mane's challenge was, but ultimately, if Mane has to do three games you can't really go crying about it because intentional or no, he put his boot high enough in the vicinity of another player to kick his airborne opponent at head height. It may be able to be downgraded from violent conduct if that I what was written up. Not sure lifting your leg, studs showing, towards an opponent you know is closing you down to head the ball away is what every good striker would do. It was a last ditch attempt from Mane to win the ball ahead of Ederson and it was a dangerous one at that. He didn't intentionally boot Ederson in the face but it was his fault. All he can do is accept responsibility for the situation. You can't desperately lunge in towards an opponent, 2 footed, to win a ball because if it goes wrong then things can really going wrong. It's a red regardless of good intentions. Same principle here.

IgnisExcubitor
Would be interesting to see who Klopp brings on. Does he stick Coutinho on the wings or chooses Ox, or changes the system. I would love to see Coutinho in midfield three, and use Ox in the front three or even wee Ben. We will definitely miss Saido's pace.
