Redcanuck
All three that came up , go straight back down. (Luton still with a Mathematical chance)
Whiskey
Surprised that they took it to Gameweek 37. Even more surprised that Luton are mathematically still in it heading into Week 38.
Bluebird Hewitt
Only thing Burnley attempted to do right was make an attempt at staying up when it was more or less too late. Considering the hype they had, they should have done better.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted May 12 Subscriber Share Posted May 12 Embarrassing attempt from them to be honest. Barely distinguishable from Sheffield United, who have been one of the worst top flight teams ever, for most of the season, and worse than Luton until the last few weeks. No excuses for Burnley either as they had a centurion team in the Championship and spent money in the summer. They should have blown Luton and Sheffield Utd out of the water and at least been able to overcome a points deducted Forest team who are also really poor in their own right. Dave
I'd be extremely frustrated if I was a Burnley fan. They had several chances to make a managerial change and give themselves a much better chance of staying up in the shorter term. Instead they persisted with a style of football that suited the managers CV at the detriment of sending the club down. It feels like the only reason the board of directors and fan base were so patient with Kompany last season was because they thought he’d be there long term and would see the benefits of sticking with him longer term. Now whilst you can't begrudge him the Bayern Munich job, you can certainly say when youve missed out on nine figures that it leaves a sour taste. Bluebird Hewitt
One of the biggest frauds going. How Parker keeps getting good job offers is beyond me. Inherited a Fulham side expected to piss the Championship twice, got laughed at in the prem with Fulham, took over a Bournemouth side also expected to piss the Championship, got humiliated in the prem, pissing and moaning about transfers before leaving and then got laughed at managing Club Brugge. Gunnersaurus
I think parker is one of those managers who is good in the championship but not good in the Premier league. In some ways that makes him ideal because they can get rid of him early if they get promoted
Subscriber Dan+ Posted August 13 Subscriber Share Posted August 13 Parker in fairness has got two promotions out of the league but it's a little bit uninspiring as well because there's no track record of him doing anything beyond that and his Fulham PL seasons have aged really badly when you look at both Silva's performance and what a lot of the squad he had have gone on to do. I do actually have them to win the Championship this year though. Think they have the best squad in the league. Kompany underachieved big time last season for me. How he fucking blagged Bayern Munich off that.

Promoted with squads expected to piss the Championship but gets found out completely when actually having to compete.
Gunnersaurus
I'm not sure if parker if a bad championship manager when he has two promotions. I think even with strong squads you wouldn't win the league if you were bad. I don't think he's premier league standard but I don't think he's a bad championship manager. And I think with two promotions it's very understandable that he was given the job
