Havertz falls over expecting a penalty. Never. But you think he'd get that kind of decision with Arsenal...

Andrich scores for Germany with a shot from outside the area!

But after the ref took a look at the replay, the goal is disallowed.

Switzerland score through Ndoye as he volleyed the ball into the net from a cross by Freuler!

Switzerland 1-0 Germany

Ndoye goes on a run and has a shot that goes inches wide of the wide post. Switzerland look really pumped up after their goal.

Germany have already qualified for the Round of 16, so a loss today won't be the end of the world. But you'd think they'd come out in the 2nd half and do their utmost to win, to finish top of the group. They'll even want to win out of pride.

Just a little headstart for our Swiss friends. Nothing to worry about.

I'm surprised you have predicted Germany to win the tournament. Normally you are pessimistic about Germany

Musiala has a powerful shot that forces Sommer into an excellent save and then Gundogan puts the rebound way wide of the post. Great move by Germany and it was a great through ball from Wirtz to start the move off.

The usual problems and the usual result atm.

I wish Havertz just kinda disappeared. International football would be much better without him.
AT BEST, he's a system player, and the national team doesn't have the time to gel a complex strategy together. The end result is that 5% of the time when Germany counter, he looks a million bucks linking up with the supporting players around him, but 95% of the time the ball ends up wide and you have nothing but a string bean to aim at, and if you go direct to him he can't hold the ball. Fucksake.

Also, EVERY OTHER TEAM ON PLANET EARTH when they are a goal behind in these situations start playing more direct, more crosses, more pressure, increasing over time as the game moves towards the finish. Germany, and Germany alone go 'nein, we must hold the ball more, surely this is the path to victory' and actively make the problem worse.

Out of all the times I've seen Vargas for Switzerland, he's seemingly done nothing in any game. Finally scores and it's offside. The wait goes on.
