Eco
Ugh...The sad demise of a promising career. We'll never know if he peaked too soon, or just didn't work hard enough, but there was a time when the kid has some promising talent. Even as a member of the U.S. Under 17, and then under 20, he excelled on the world stage. Somewhat feel bad for the kid for the amount of pressure that was put on him. He was already in Finland a few years ago, so moving to Sweden isn't that huge of a shocker.
Honey Honey
Looking back you have to question how ethical it was to turn a 15 year old boy into a marketing gimmick

The world was drooling over Neymar at around the same age, difference is one turned into a star, and the other a dud. Another major difference with this is the simple fact one is from Brazil which is a soccer star country, while the other was American, which is a soccer starved country. Going a bit overboard is to be expected, and we are witnessing it here again with a slightly older Pulisic.

There has to have been talent there in the first place, they couldn't market a total dud, but he was given a $1m marketing deal before playing a game and pushed into being a professional at 15. It looks really dodgy.

Hind sight is 20 -20, if Adu had been the present day Messi, then we all would be thinking very differently about how Adu was treated at 15, but since he has become a below average professional footballer who publicly failed in the worst way, then we are going over ever stage of his career and going over it with a fine tooth comb. All of this is assuming that him flopping didn't have something to do with his being forced into the spotlight at 15 years old

It definitely could have hurt his progress. I am lead to believe that he just peaked at 15-18 years old and hasn't done anything sense.

For him to peak before his body and brain have fully developed suggests that something has gone very wrong in his development, and I don't think he's entirely to blame. Dickie
Where? The problem is and I've said it a million times, he was starting to flounder a little in MLS then instead of being smart and staying he decided to go abroad which I get, the allure is there. However he didn't just go to like a second tier he went to a massive club in Benefica. I'm sure if he was willing to go on trial with an MLS team he'd be picked up. Dr. Gonzo
American fans put a lot of pressure on their players that have lots of potential, imo. Look at this: Lots of pressure on a young player is probably not the best thing to do. Pulisic agrees: https://www.espn.co.uk/football/united-states/story/3343358/christian-pulisic-the-hurt-wont-go-away-until-im-in-a-world-cup-with-us
