Rab Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 No idea who he is. Looking at his managerial statistics, his teams have lost more than they won with a 34% win percentage. Sounds like Hibs will need to be careful or they'll be Heckingbottom of the table.
Large Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 He did a decentish job at Barnsley, considering the challenges and resources he had there, but was absolute dog shit at Leeds.
Smiley Culture Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Think it’s worth actually delving into the stats bather than just plainly looking at the figures. Heckingbottom, IIRC, picked Barnsley up when they were in the bottom six of League One in February ‘16 and lead them to a double, winning the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and then ending their season with a League One Play-Off Final win. Granted a lot of the work had been done to get the side to Wembley for the JPT but nonetheless they had to manage a double legged semi-final and then the final. Heckingbottom then lead Barnsley to 14th in the Championship, no mean feat for a club that didn’t have great financial resources and an owner who’d been diagnosed with cancer and had a bigger job on his hands than overseeing a Football Club. Heckingbottom left Barnsley for Leeds. The lure of a bigger club, more money, better resources and Barnsley had been sold, so they may have wanted their own man. Barnsley had 27 points when he left (and were 19th) for Leeds and they ended the season relegated with 41 points. Leeds it clearly didn’t go well but there’s been many a manager who’ve gone to Leeds and it not worked so it’s hardly a shocking crime.
Large Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Not a shocking crime, but still not to be ignored. He was shocking at Leeds. He did far worse there than he should have.
ScoRoss Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 Looks to be on the way out at Hibs. Their board can only be so patient with him. With new owners taking over the club in the summer, it might not be too big a shock for them to look to bring in their own manager before January at least.
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted November 4, 2019 Subscriber Posted November 4, 2019 Hibernian: Paul Heckingbottom sacked as head coach Paul Heckingbottom has been sacked as Hibernian head coach with the Leith club languishing 10th in the Scottish Premiership. His exit comes after Hibs shipped five goals to Celtic in Saturday's League Cup semi-final defeat. The Englishman had been in charge for almost nine months. Although unbeaten in his first 10 league games as the boss, guiding Hibs from eighth to fifth, his team took nine points from a possible 33 this term. FULL REPORT

Administrator Batard Posted November 4, 2019 Administrator Posted November 4, 2019 Wasn't he a former Sunderland player? No wonder they were getting dragged down
