Quote [RTL] Horner is said to have drawn a clear line in the sand and ensured that the employee in question can no longer be near him. According to RTL's information, he is said to have paid her a severance payment of 700,000 euros. Red Bull is said to have increased the sum to one million. RTL knows: Horner had an affair with his assistant for years - and thereby put his family, which was at least outwardly perfect, at risk. The Brit has been married to the former pop star and girl group member since May 2015. They have a son together: Montague George was born on January 21, 2017. Now, however, Horner is said to have drawn a clear line in the sand and ensured that the employee in question can no longer be near him. According to RTL information, he is said to have paid her a severance payment of 700,000 euros. Red Bull is said to have increased the sum to one million. The termination and the mega payment have not been officially confirmed - Red Bull has so far left a request from RTL unanswered. But it means that the matter should be finally off the table. The case recently developed into a soap opera: for weeks, Horner was accused of having behaved in a “cross-border” manner towards the employee who reported to him. An external law firm took on the matter and, after a thorough investigation, ruled: Horner should be cleared of the allegations and allowed to remain in office . And the ordeal for the marriage also seemed to be over: Horner and Halliwell strolled through the paddock at the Bahrain Grand Prix last weekend as if they were newly in love. But behind the scenes the tone is said to have been much rougher! British media reported an ultimatum from the wife for Horner and new strict ground rules for the relationship. This is all pretty fucked up. But back in the day he cheated on his then pregnant wife with Geri, so what did she expect? Quote
Administrator Stan Posted April 25 Administrator Posted April 25 Adrian Newey leaving RB Quote Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey is to leave the team in the wake of the controversy involving allegations about team principal Christian Horner. Newey, regarded as the greatest Formula 1 designer in history, has told Red Bull he wants to move on, BBC Sport has learned. The 65-year-old has been unsettled by the situation at Red Bull since Horner was accused of sexual harassment and coercive, abusive behaviour by a female employee, which Horner denies. Red Bull and Newey did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 25 Subscriber Posted April 25 If Ferrari sign both Hamilton and Newey in the space of a few months... I wonder if this has anything to do with the Horner scandal or whether that was a factor at all. I hope it is. Karma. Ideally for the fans, Newey will just retire from F1 and let us have actual competition but it sounds like he has a move lined up. Quote

Lewis switching from McLaren to Mercedes, everyone calling it a bad move until Mercedes become dominant and he won 6 titles with them. Hamilton moves to Ferrari, and they might get Adrian Newey. Imagine if it's another team move that turns out golden. Quote

I think it's the other way around and the Horner scandal plays into a bigger internal struggle at Red Bull. I read some reports saying that Newey was done with Horner even in 2023 when the latter was downplaying Newey's importance to the team. But who's to say, really. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 4 Subscriber Posted June 4 Disappointing from a fan's perspective. I wonder if they'll regret it too. Not that teams care as much about the Constructors' Championship but they're getting reeled in by McLaren and Ferrari and Perez' performances could cost them that title as early as this year. Quote

Reportedly the amount of money Pérez brings in to Red Bull through sponsorships and RB market value in Mexico/Latin America far eclipses the extra money RB would get from winning the constructor's title. It's really only that and having a clear 1-2 driver dynamic for stability that I can think of as reasons to cling on to Pérez. Sad though, I would've really liked to see Max go up against Sainz or the likes. Quote

Wonder if it's the reason Ferrari signed Lewis? Due to him being marketable. Quote

But with Leclerc and Sainz they could've gone on for the next 5 years or so. Edited July 1 by Panflute Quote
Panflute Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Will Pérez survive the summer at Red Bull? Place your bets. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 29 Subscriber Posted July 29 Perez keeps his seat until the end of the year apparently. Their academy production line has really dried up. It's a bit harsh on Tsunoda in my opinion not to give him a chance. I don't think he has the temperament to cope in that team but I also don't see what else he's supposed to do in the junior team to prove himself at least good enough to be "the other driver" in a top team if not the team leader. There's a reason Ferrari and Mercedes aren't linked with him though I suppose. Quote
nudge Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I mean, they still have Lawson, and Hadjar is on his way to winning the F2 title. It is a shame that so many gifted young drivers end up on the sidelines. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 31 Subscriber Posted July 31 Reports that Red Bull told Verstappen's camp they were sacking Perez then Carlos Slim and/or Liberty Media intervened citing concerns about a loss of revenue for the Mexican Grand Prix. Seems a bit fantastical but I've seen enough accounts reporting on it that I could be convinced it's true. Quote
