Meh. Not even watched this since the legendary 3 left. The chemistry they had was unmatched and it just never felt forced.

Feels like they're back on the way to what that was like with the new 3 by first impressions on this new series.

Had the same feeling as you though - all the series since the original 3 left was forced and felt like they tried far too hard with too many different people involved.

McGuinness & Flintoff seem to have the 'natural' banter (hate that word) about them.

I don't think it will ever beat the original series with the Fab 3...sigh

Watched the new one on Sunday and really enjoyed it. It's never going to be Clarkson, Hammond and May but Freddie and Paddy work well along with Chris as the kinda fall guy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Caught this last night ( the one with the Hearse ) found it alright and pretty funny in places, although a little forced here and there it was still very watchable.. An unusual team but looking like it could work well...

Yeah I'm glad they've gone to these hosts, it'll improve the show again although it'll never be as good as Clarkson, Hammond and May.

But on the plus side, if Top Gear becomes even comparable to their golden era as a show... and we've got The Grand Tour on Amazon... then we've got 2 fun shows. That's win-win. Like how Dave Mustaine leaving Metallica gave us Megadeth, and then metal was blessed with the both of them in the golden era of thrash.

Just watch The Grand Tour folks....it doesnt miss a beat, those three make the show.

Like @Dr. Gonzo said, it would be good to have two shows we can enjoy. Nobody is denying that Grand Tour is good but we are saying this new Top Gear lineup has potential. It's still early days.
