The “That’s Tinpot” Thread

Recommended Posts

The lower-leagues and, more so, non-league football is well known for its tinpottery, so here’s a thread celebrating it in all its glory.

I will start with this, an article from Boreham Wood’s chairman citing his sadness at an “abysmal” crowd of 407 for their home game against Sutton on Saturday.

Bloody hell, just looked at the National League Table and they are sitting in 11th place but the teams below them, Notts County, Hartlepool, Stockport, Wrexham, I can't blame the chairman being disappointed really with the gates as them teams mentioned were way up the tables once upon a time but I guess money nowadays with the fans and the cost of living is a factor.

Big thanks to Chopsy for bringing this thread back to life with his “man yells at cloud” moments.

Here’s a great tinpot story, poor ol’ Whitby Town may have to play goalkeepers outfield in their FA Cup replay:

Scenes.

Whitby travelled to Gloucester with 14 men, three of which were goalkeepers and they won 3-1.

who has the problem ? knobs who think non league is tinpotty . i think so.

But it is? Not every club but there's some great examples of those that are. Do you have any reason why it's not tinpotty?

Pitch invasion when you've not won the game.

Never been a fan of Shrewsbury since Paul Hurst left us as manager and went to them and took most of our good players with him.

As the thread has been brought back to life, I give you Abingdon Town, who’s players left the ground at half-time of their game against Abingdon United. They were losing 8-0.

I was going to say that they were totally right to do that and then I saw that you said the PLAYERS.
