  2. My gut instinct is it doesn't go well. I think the bad games annoyed me more than the good games impressed me. But maybe I've just watched too much football.
  3. People are automatically negative with England but I don't see any good reason England shouldn't be seeing themselves as a serious contender this time around. I think it will be the usual which is beat everybody we're expected to beat and lose as soon as we hit a bit of genuine adversity. Biggest flat track bullies in football.
  4. I'd say they're a near banker to be relegated. Such a bizarre appointment.

  7. Scotland won't get anywhere, end of story, England? they have always had class goalkeepers, Banks, Shilton, Clemence, Seaman and maybe throw in Chris Woods and that's about it, guys who could command the back line and get respect, none of them around nowadays. Also there is the media, all the hype they throw out when a competition arrives how great England are the players believe them and when it all goes ape shit the media come down on them like a ton of bricks. I read once other countries around the world won't highlight the games ahead like England does and just start the campaign off low key and stop plastering the media with all the news how great they are. I am no expert at all this so take it as a load of bullshit.
  8. Thank you all for thinking of me and feeling sorry for me. It certainly hurt. Now we're gonna lose some of our best players again and rebuild for the new season with a lot of uncertainties.
  9. I always find England discourse weird. I don’t know many people personally that think we should be winning this competition, or any of the previous ones. But then you go online and see your TalkSport types and think they must be out there
  10. I'm not sure what to make of him. He's a real advocate of the multi-club ownership model whilst Parish, Harris and Blitzer are not which is why he's selling up. He's never had full control here as the other three vote in unison so its better to look at what he's done at his other clubs. He's had a real tough time of it in Lyon. They've sold some real class potential in the past 18 months and they had the big issue with previous owner freezing club bank accounts once he recognised Textor wasn't going to let him continue running the club as a dictatorship. He's turned the corner with Botafogo by winning a Championship after he originally left the fan base livid by selling there best player midway through a campaign to Lyon. His Belgium club don't seem to like him and the story that stands out the most is he signed a player who was the highest transfer fee in the league, only for him to be immediately loaned to Lyon. I get the impression he's investment heavy as opposed to cash heavy. I think he has a vision but he's effectively learning on the job with these football clubs. I think there will be growing pains for him at Everton, and at times it will be frustrating, but I think he's a far better option than Moshiri and 777. You'll always have a football club to support under him.
  11. Lord. Imagine the 3-0 not being enough. Gutting. Sorry Tommy that must hurt.
  12. Tut mir echt leid @Tommy. So zu scheitern war schon ausgesprochen bitter!
  13. I was unaware he was still under contract to United.
  14. Paciencia, Bero, Asano, Stoger, Schlotterbeck and Wittek all scored from their penalties for Bochum, while Masovic missed his penalty as it was saved. However for Dusseldorf, Johannesson, Engelhrdt, Oberdorf, Tzolis and Niemiec scored their penalties, but Andre Hoffmann had his penalty saved and Uchina absolutely balooned his penalty effort over the bar! So that means that Bochum win and have incredibly turned this tie around. I don't know how Dusseldorf will recover from this, they had such a big advantage from the 1st leg, but congrats to Bochum for playing excellently today. Commiserations to @Tommy, Dusseldorf had an impressive season and it's sad that it came down to this.
  15. After 7 takers each it's decided. Bochum stay in the Buli.
  16. Paciencia steps up to take the 1st penalty. Paciencia scores and sends Kastenmaier diving the wrong way.
  17. 2 goal hero Hoffman is brought off before the kick-off for the 30 minutes of extra-time, but Bochum have the luxury of replacing him with the experienced Portuguese international Goncalo Paciencia.
  18. @The Palace Fan what do we think of John Textor? Starting to sound like a front runner to buy Everton now once the exclusivity agreement with 777 ending this week.
  19. Whirlwind of a game. Shame Düsseldorf couldn't see the game out and just get one goal despite Bochum's 3, but for the neutral it's been exactly what was wanted. Düsseldorf need to show some real belief and desire now and not let the previous 90 affect them!
  20. If the sub Asano connected to that cross, that would likely have been the 4th goal. Hoffman, Stoger, Bero and Ordets have been excellent and stood out today, but all the Bochum team have done very well.
