With me, it almost certainly always is I'm sure if you do succeed, you'll be making waves in your field in no time.

This is earth-shattering news, Brian. Good luck.
  3. Fair enough on the other points - I get lumped in with being a VAR apologist but I feel like I'm one of very few that does recognise it has its limitations. As for the bit in bold, to avoid the howlers and obvious mistakes is quite an obvious reason to have it. A by-product of that, however, is the questionable margin of where do you draw that magic boundary line of what is a howler/obvious mistake, what's close to such an embarrassing mistake but is still a mistake, and what isn't a mistake that gets verified by being checked. VAR covers all - I said earlier I don't think scrapping it is the answer because we're all on about an entertaining spectacle but I can't believe anyone that says they'll be happy when it's gone then see a utterly disgusting decision go against them, and then not be livid with it as they walk out of the stadium.

@Batard and @Mpache were lovers? Interesting.
  6. People say he did it for the Kamara, I disagree. Either way, nice to see.
  7. I reckon @DeadLinesman fancies a bit of Portuguese...
  8. Well done @Rucksackfranzose! What's next @RandoEFC?
  9. Okay, I'll just PM a mod to complain.
  10. @Tommy do you have something against British people
  11. Nice, glad to see they did do that and actively speak out against it
  12. Therein lies the irony though. Of course everyone should be posting messages about it, raising awareness and trying to eradicate it, but it's conflicting when they seem ever so reluctant to condone what their fans did the other day with the disgraceful message towards Kamara (if I've missed anything where they have then fair enough). And I know there's the question of proof of what their player did on Thursday, so perhaps they can't speak out about that, but it needs to be more than a message on a dedicated day to eliminating racism for me...
  13. It's quite obviously dangerous play and a red card. I don't see how anyone can judge that bit differently. However you can be dangerous but also be looking at the ball shortly before the kick. It doesn't have to be one of the other. The fact he gets/makes contact with the ball first, to me, means he was looking at the ball all the way. What he probably doesn't envisage, or predict, is that the keeper could be coming out to get the ball and is closer to him as he goes for the ball. In saying that, his action of getting the ball is already in process and he probably can't duck out of it now and has to make contact. In comparison, he's not gone full Cantona on the keeper. That's clearly intentional and malicious. What Roofe did is just purely dangerous. His intention I don't think was to kick the keeper like that in the face.
  14. @Moon Monkey are you trolling?

I imagine having a lot of adrenaline in the ring plays a huge part in not knowing/caring/realising how much blood is out or what pain you're eventually going to be in...

And a Birra Morretti too! You do have good taste.
  18. General musing to anyone who doesn't want VAR, if it does get scrapped I wouldn't want to see any moaning about an incorrect decision ever again. Goal given where the player was offside but not seen? No moaning. Clear penalty not given? No moaning. Blatant handball missed and no penalty? No moaning. Player handballs it in the lead up to a goal being scored? No moaning. Can't have it both ways. If it makes football entertaining then of course, everyone wants to see our game as exciting as possible. It's like there needs to be a fine line or compromise to manage and I don't think the answer is to scrap it totally...

This is phenomenal. The speed he's running and just plucks it out of the air with one hand. Wow.

    Unreal take from Jordan, that.
  21. Yep, a couple of them were right next to Kamara or in the vicinity of it. The player in question (Kudela) is probably one of those cunts that says 'I've got black friends and teammates so I can't be racist'
  22. Sparta will feel especially aggrieved given its their rivals Slavia causing all this shit.

Welcome Brian has had a very eventful past, online and offline, so to speak. Given his trials and tribulations, perhaps it is fitting Easter is just round the corner as he was once known to have died and then, like a phoenix from its ashes, rose once again a few days later and he was, in fact, still alive. His obituary, albeit temporary, proclaimed he was a lover. Who he was a lover to remains anonymous. Perhaps people can point their finger at who it could be, but all the while it is not our position to judge...
