  1. So I have been playing Strive for over a week now and although ArcSystems said this was easier than its predecessors its weirdly more complex under the hood. The battle system and player renders are gorgeous in 4K but they suffer from frame stutters, the combat has so many variables designed to benefit players on both side of the spectrum (attack or defense) and the last most interesting thing is how they pause gameplay for half a second when counters are hit. When capitalized you can even spin a bad round in your favor. Can't wait to see how this works in tournaments but so far online its been quite a good mix bag of games.

Its really quite a piece of kit. When I first got it I was blown away by how easy it was to get an instrument going. The next thing I did was stereo music and my bass for practice and thats when I realized how much this little thing can actually do without so much as a fuss. Normally with FocusRite you end up paying so much more for these little easy to implement things.

And this is the equivalent of a gf leaving a toothbrush at your house and you willingly letting them. Congrats on the bass it looks awesome. Love that oldschool double pickup at the bottom too. I've always wanted one I just can never get myself to get one as I've got pretty much everything I need right now.

Love the color and I have always wanted a MusicMan. How does it play?
  5. Red Dead Redemption - Samurai style.
  6. Started playing Guilty Gear Strive over the weekend. It's a bit of a weird entry into the series because it feels a little less cumbersome to force combo attacks on players but the good news is that along with the simplicity of attack its defense-based play system has gotten immensely better and far more trickier to use. I don't get the internet fury about how its gotten simpler because the more you play it the more you realize there is a whole maze of ways to play under every single character and couple that with all the basic gameplay mechanics of defense+attack and it turns into a good amount of fun that pro-players are going to enjoy for a very long time. https://www.guiltygear.com/ggst/en/
  7. I liked the Metroid Dread annoucement. Yeah its a 2D platformer but atleast they cared enough to give us something there after all the delays.

    Work/Jobs Thread

As a person that was WFH for a little over a decade this is so true. If you don't get a routine in and stick to it its terribly unhealthy for you. I had colleagues who would never take a break and they really suffered for it health-wise. Mentally its hard to stay concentrated but as long as you pace out work and taking breaks you'll be fine. Also, invest in creating a space that fosters work productivity. Often you'll see people take up cramped spaces in their house just to get work done and it can be really hard to get work done. I work right next to the window and get a lot of sunlight in does wonders for my work.

    Work/Jobs Thread

I just shifted to a new job yesterday and they have a policy of working from the office four/three days a week with the rest from home. Granted of course this is going to be the new norm for the foreseeable future but I do agree that your productivity really swings just based on mood, what kind of work you're doing and most importantly deadlines.

Is there really any other way? haha. I mean first and ring finger gets tiring after a while but then you have no reach to hit notes but I'd imagine with time that becomes a non-issue as you get used to it.

Doesn't Cakewalk have a Drums builder in it? I could have sworn it does.

I think it works both ways for me personally @Dr. Gonzo when I try and share information I learn too. Good example is taking the drum samples and just using them to burn through finger sessions (tapping like im on steroids) vs programming them in. It's honestly so much work but the end product is so rewarding. Then you end up watching all kinds of weird videos where folks are doing finger gymnastics on a Maschine MK 3 and you wonder when you'll ever get that good only to realize you really dont need to be that good you just need to know what you want and program it in. I cant wait to go back into a jam room or a studio and meet folks and just play now because I feel like I'll waste all this knowledge if I dont start playing with other people soon.

Luckily I dont have to make that choice haha but SD3 over the other two. I just use Maschine and program drum beats that way and i like their workflow. I dont touch the keyboard, build the groups, tap the slots and then add velocity and I am done.

ID4 is a superb solo device imo as it has everything you need to get started. 1. SuperiorDrummer3 is really superior. 2. Get the iLouds you'll be sorted for a long long time 3. When you get something new take a look at this for two years or less from now - https://usa.yamaha.com/products/proaudio/mixers/mg_series_xu_model/index.html . I just got one and it changes the way you see Stereo mixing. 4. AudioTechnica all the way. Cheap, sturdy and does a good job for a condenser mic. If you want long-lasting and want to shell out more then Shure or Rode.
  17. I started playing this and I am fucking hooked. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1476170/Godstrike/

Ill go in reverse here. Firstly, Congrats! Songwriting is such a hit and miss thing that when you write your first song no matter how good or bad it is its an achievement in itself. Secondly, I want to hear it and I am sure others do too like @Happy Blue Lastly, for RCA to TRS its the way to go but if I am not wrong you want something that does Stereo although I could be 100% wrong here. I used an XLR to TRS (I think jack years ago and it was really good who knows what advancements have been made there). Suffice to say its easy and a lot of folks do it as the iLoud is very popular.

For more inputs try the bigger scarletts for more interfacing. Or, get an Audient EVO if its a quartet. I love my Audient and I think its even better than the Scarlett in many ways.

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iloudmm/?pkey=iloud-micro-monitor I highly recommend these for small spaces. They are loud enough and clear enough too. I think they do a box but thats not going to give you any panning, etc. It took my five years to get my desk space setup and it happened in 2019 before all this shit happened.
