Not really. If you only want it to sound that way then its what you want it to sound like. I use a lot of reverb and sometimes mild delay on bass components to make them sound a bit more punchier in the attack if my playing was lazy. I will even add a boost to the signal just to bring it up to where I need it to be so that when I apply the reverb I get much more out of it. I use it plenty on drum tracks as well because I have found that even a synth drum can sometimes leave traces of unfinished drum sounds you may not want if you want that true tight sound.

Yes, you'll use similar panning but you do them in groups once you get past double tracking the sound. I think double tracking is important anyways as a lot of folks do a dry/wet signal combination to fill out the guitars a bit more and add more power to the track.

For what its worth its actually quite good when you take out the tempo drops in the playing but that's just expected imo when you start out because of the fact that its the first time its not supposed to sound anything like what you'll finally end up with haha. I was half expecting a solo in there too when it starts to get a bit more heavier. Things that I would do to help a bit with cleaning up the sound-stage Pan the guitar and bass on one side and bleed it back into the center by about 30% and raise/level for the guitar so that it isn't overpowered by the bass shifting sides. You'll start to hear your playing more clearly Take the drums and move it to the opposite side and fool around till the drum beats start to almost sound in sync with the bass. What this does is lay the foundational beat set so that you can start to hear the guitars shine through. Then start to tweak and tweak and tweak till you get that very clear metal sound which you've got but as you said its washed and thats okay because all the channels on the DAW are not going anywhere haha This is what the pan + vol settings are for a clean sound sample (look at the I/O column) What you end up with is something that sounds like its in the center of the sound-scape but really its pushed around to let your ears fool your brain into thinking you're listening to it that way. That rhythm almost sounds like No Remorse and that bass line is the classic keep the tempo style as well. It's a lot better than my first attempt that's for sure haha.

The pooch passed away yesterday. It was a bit of a rollercoaster day considering everything this dog and me have been through but I know he's in a better place now.

Jokes aside that's very cool and I can't wait to see how many people it helps think straight along with the masses its going to help that have disabilities.

Terribly curious what this average value means because if its via the population count then that number for India is quite funny. And after seeing China's number I am thinking its something on those lines.

Don't see anything to state its going to be bad but I don't see anything showing its going to be good either. I think if they wanted more human interaction with sci-fi and drama they should have spent the money and done a Gears of War TV show or Metro.

I spent a lot of time considering what to actually get to start learning Piano so I can start integrating it with my workflow and even if someone from the band wants to write something. I figured a MIDI keyboard was more useful than an actual piano as I think it offers the best of both worlds and so I went and bought a simple MIDI keyboard (full size 88 keys) to see where this goes. https://m-audio.com/hammer88 Having said all this, I also plan on taking lessons and while this isn't a "real" piano I wasn't really looking for that or I'd have gone the digital piano route instead. Played a lot of Wingspan over the last two days just because folks couldn't go out late and we all decided to play it safe and I have to say their online interface is actually pretty poor compared to the actual tabletop.

I think it may be time for refs to take a bit of stick post match when their decisions are reviewed. It's odd that when more than just the coaches and players see the bad decisions that these refs don't get any stick at all. Yes its a high pressure job but it's also a job that demands a level of accuracy and fairness to it that is currently not its state. We can all throw a sympathetic towel to them saying it's a hard job but realistically they've been given tools to help them with this job and they haven't really used them well. Whether it's the game against Spurs or any other game in the league, refs are getting away with not performing right. I'd also wager that if they did start to get fined and evaluated for their performances we'd start to see a lot of the poor quality refs disappear. The only big question to answer is "who is going to evaluate them?".

"All your friends who overspent on their guitars will end up with awful-sounding pieces of junk in less than 2 years and probably still owe money on it because they financed the stupid thing. You, on the other hand, will have a guitar that was paid in full years ago, still plays great and still sounds great. That's money well spent."

I'll watch it this week just been so caught up with work and not had time to actually sit down to watch much but this is on my list this week.
