  1. Whenever I watch these guys I am always amazed by how that bass gets the sound it does. And to add to that, he's playing it like a rhythm guitar. Totally non-standard and totally fun.
  2. I'd avoid the original its a bit slow but its good sci-fi for its time and yes she is creepy AF with her body language and more importantly the way her eyes scan the room in certain sequences. Also helps that shes hot and has the body-features to pull off the role required.
  3. Started watching Dexter - New Blood and three episodes in its nice to see that they found a way to keep things fresh. It's actually quite a good watch.
  4. Morena Baccarin does a good job of playing the primary antagonist. I remember watching it and thinking they were going to follow in the footsteps of the original which im glad they totally didnt.

Mildly weird post but I came across something from a long time ago and I thought might be a good share. I was looking at this on Steam and thought why not. https://store.steampowered.com/app/221680/Rocksmith_2014_Edition__Remastered/ Effectively its like Guitar Hero except you actually plug your instrument into your PC and play along. So, I am going to give it a go. This video in particular got me jazzed haha. And you can buy cover packs for whoever you want to play and it helps learn. I like gaming, I like music, seems like a no-brainer. Shame there's no Daft Punk pack.
  6. This looks very close to what Theranos showed its investors. Back on topic, I remember tapes because my dad had some at work but I don't remember seeing any games associated with them.
  7. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/shopping-cart-origin/ What an odd read but also quite fascinating.
  8. Let me play as a Sith and I'll buy that one from the three. Make it happen Respawn.
  9. https://kotaku.com/esl-faceit-esports-public-investment-fund-saudi-arabia-1848413393 And they went and bought FaceIt too. Its a smart acquisition as they'll make a lot of money in the process, maybe not at first but eventually it will even out. Its going to be interesting to see how many people jump ship now that the Saudi's are the ones backing it.
  10. For most folks on here you may already know this but ... it never helps to have it restated

He does have some good sound on his rigs, especially if you're hitting a lot of quick notes. Think its the compressor that does the magic but I could be wrong.

Not really. If you only want it to sound that way then its what you want it to sound like. I use a lot of reverb and sometimes mild delay on bass components to make them sound a bit more punchier in the attack if my playing was lazy. I will even add a boost to the signal just to bring it up to where I need it to be so that when I apply the reverb I get much more out of it. I use it plenty on drum tracks as well because I have found that even a synth drum can sometimes leave traces of unfinished drum sounds you may not want if you want that true tight sound.

@Dr. Gonzo @Happy Blue Something for you boys to use when you're using reverb in sound-settings with other instruments. This channel is truly mindblowing for good content.

Yes, you'll use similar panning but you do them in groups once you get past double tracking the sound. I think double tracking is important anyways as a lot of folks do a dry/wet signal combination to fill out the guitars a bit more and add more power to the track.

For what its worth its actually quite good when you take out the tempo drops in the playing but that's just expected imo when you start out because of the fact that its the first time its not supposed to sound anything like what you'll finally end up with haha. I was half expecting a solo in there too when it starts to get a bit more heavier. Things that I would do to help a bit with cleaning up the sound-stage Pan the guitar and bass on one side and bleed it back into the center by about 30% and raise/level for the guitar so that it isn't overpowered by the bass shifting sides. You'll start to hear your playing more clearly Take the drums and move it to the opposite side and fool around till the drum beats start to almost sound in sync with the bass. What this does is lay the foundational beat set so that you can start to hear the guitars shine through. Then start to tweak and tweak and tweak till you get that very clear metal sound which you've got but as you said its washed and thats okay because all the channels on the DAW are not going anywhere haha This is what the pan + vol settings are for a clean sound sample (look at the I/O column) What you end up with is something that sounds like its in the center of the sound-scape but really its pushed around to let your ears fool your brain into thinking you're listening to it that way. Here's a sample with those settings - http://sndup.net/zt5n But I do like it a lot and it sounds very Metallica mashed with Megadeth. That rhythm almost sounds like No Remorse and that bass line is the classic keep the tempo style as well. It's a lot better than my first attempt that's for sure haha.
  17. Thank you gentlemen, means a lot.
  18. The pooch passed away yesterday. It was a bit of a rollercoaster day considering everything this dog and me have been through but I know he's in a better place now.
