  1. Watching on a delay one end of the office whilst the other end have it on the large TVs. I can't move down that end either!
  2. Going for slightly shorter odds this week in the hope of at least some winnings on the board. Man City to win v Sevilla (1.37) Mo Salah - First or Last Goalscorer v Bournemouth (2.50) £10 at 3.42 pays out £34.25
  3. Haven't got Haaland in my team again. It's not worked out this gameweek but hoping I can build up some value elsewhere and improve my team that way as I can't imagine Haaland will change too much in price this season.
  4. FFS Failed already De bruyne gone off injured
  5. Midweek Results 7 EFL Cup games to get the results for in midweek! - @Lucas is on the move as Southampton were beaten by Gillingham, @Bluewolf suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat with Millwall at the hands of Reading, and @RandoEFClost on on penalties with Cambridge to Sutton. The other 4 games resulted in wins so 3 points for @Stan (Leicester), @Storts (Ipswich), @CaaC (John) (Leeds), and @londonerlilie (Wimbledon). All but myself now on 2 games played! Storts and Stan are our current leaders.
  6. My pick for this week is: Haaland and De Bruyne Both to Score - (5.00) Bournemouth v West Ham to Draw (3.40) £10 Double at 17.00 pays out £170.00
  7. What's the cut off for this week?
  8. RESULTS Everyone has now played their first game! We have our first two losses of the season with @Bluewolf losing out with Middlesbrough and now moving to Millwall, and myself continuing my poor form from last season with an opening defeat with St Etienne to Grenoble. 5 draws in this round so @londonerlilie, @Viva la FCB, @Coma, @Rucksackfranzose (already picked), @CaaC (John) and @Tommy can choose to stick or twist with their teams. @Lucas recorded an opening weekend win with Southampton, as did @RandoEFC with Cambridge. @Stan backed his own team to win and they did, and @Storts's Ipswich beat Sunderland in their return to the Championship to bag 3 points for themselves and Storts. 3 joint leaders currently with all 3 not managing to retain a 100% win record - the 4 players behind them will be hoping to gain an advantage by retaining their own good starts to the season. A full round of cup fixtures besides my game being a league match!
  9. Even better that I bet on both the teams I follow - and they both failed to win.
  10. This one is going to let me down I feel. 0-0 currently.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but The Hundred started the other day. Hoping I enjoy it as much as I did last year.
  12. Lauren James is having a great tournament. 2 good goals in this game.
  13. I think there's less of a point in the 'modern game' compared to how it was when you had the likes of Roy Keane as your captain. There is still a point as it's that one figurehead of the team who acts almost as the second manager/coach on the pitch. They are there to lead the rest of the 10 players and pass on messages and motivate them. Gerrard in the 2005 Champions League Final is a good example of this - he spurred the team on to that comeback. Where it becomes less of a thing is when you are chopping and changing or your captain is not suitable (see Maguire at United) - it should be given to a natural leader within the team, or somebody with an affinity or connection to the club like a player who's come through the ranks or an experienced player.
  14. I didn't forget! 4 teams in action in the opening weekend - @Coma won with Dusseldorf and sets up a clash against @Viva la FCB's St Pauli who also won their tie. @Rucksackfranzose got off to a winning start with Karlsruher too. @Tommy drops points in his opening fixture, only managing a draw with Hannover against Elversberg so now he can choose to remain with Hannover or move to their opposition. It's great news for the 3 winning players as they jump to joint top of the table! And here are the fixtures, minus Bluewolf who still needs to pick a team
  15. Try again - no teams in a top flight league
  16. I'm in. So if I lose my initial £10, am I out? Either way, this is what I'm going for... Sunderland to win against Ipswich (2.45) Grimsby to win against Wimbledon (1.85) £10 returns £45.32 on Virgin Bet at 4.53 (yes I use decimal odds)
  17. Seems almost like a Catch 22 situation for United at the moment. Let him play and people will be outraged; don't let him play and the other set of people will be outraged. it's not great press for United either way.
  18. Dude that's amazing! I'm on holiday but I'll catch it on demand or set Sky to record it.
