It's good for English fans though. Does seem like a bit of a negative way of lookong at things to me. People moaned for years about the premier league not being good now they are moaning its to good. Football goes through phases where certain leagues are stronger. For years it was la liga now it's the premier league

It's the money that's good, not the quality of Burnley.

Pathetic transfer from the player. Moving from a side that are in and around the European spots to go to fucking Burnley.

It’s not even as if they pay big wages either is is, they are always harping on about being skint, so is it that much of a wage increase for him?

Truly bizarre transfer.

It probably is a big wage increase for him, tbh. A few years ago, the Bundesliga was the second highest paying league (I was surprised to learn this too) for players on average behind the premier league... but still less than half what the entirety of the premiership paid for players on average. German clubs also, out of the biggest domestic leagues in Europe (us, them, France, Italy and Spain), have the worst ratio of revenue coming in vs. wages paid out to players.

And when you consider Germany's averages are going to be a bit wonky because there's some sides, namely Bayern Munich and Dortmund, that are going to have a far higher wage bill than the rest of the league. So you take them out and the German wages are pretty low on average compared to what even our shit sides pay players. This means that even at a side in and around European spots, he's probably made substantially less than he'll be making at Burnley... even though it's a worse team.

Like @Devilsaid, it's a bit like when good players would fuck off to Italy to play for some random club. They don't have long careers and money talks - it could be his last big payday.

It has been said, but to finally bury this myth. Wolfsburg are on 15th spot, not in and around European spots.:)
