Surely got to get Nisbet on with 15 to go. The chances are there but there's no finisher.

The game is almost done, we need two goals. Do something exciting for the last 10 minutes at least.

Who honestly cares if we lose 3-1.

Ultimately got fucked by conceding the two best goals of the tournament, missing a handful of clear chances, and having our best player ruled out for our most important game.

The frustration will be worth if it we learn from it and go into WC qualification with Patterson as a regular option at right back, a more clinical forward line, and Gilmour as an undisputed starter.

Hrvatska! Nice to see them through. :)

Yeah, they showed their quality today with some lovely goals. Scotland played and battled very well, but ultimately that extra class that Croatia have, decided this match.

The Czech Republic game was the one wasn't it.

You knew before that game what a must win it was given the two 'tougher' games were to come and losing to them when it was clear you had the beating of them is the choker.

Che Adams not starting that game, or Gilmour, has cost you big. Had you won that, you'd be through.

Modric is a special player, the goal reminded me of one he scored at Old Trafford for Real Madrid.

Just a class act and it's no disgrace to be beat by Croatia, they may be a team in transition but they've got one or two top class game changers in Modric and Perisic and the rest keep the ball so well.

Ultimately the Czech result is what killed you, that team selection was terrible.

Typical Scotland though. Fuck up early, leave yourself a mountain to climb, actually do just well enough create some belief that it can be done, and then fall short at the end.

Clarke is a good manager for games like the England game where a draw is a good result. The issue is that the team also needs to be able to be able to step up and dominate games when needed, like when we’re playing teams of equal or lesser talent at home. Gilmour is an essential part of that.

I have to somewhat differ in my assessment of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic are a very decent side. Scotland just had the misfortune of being placed in a very tough group. The Czechs were well worth their 2-0 win against the Scots from what I saw. They dominated at the start, with Scotland mainly relying on their counter attacks. There's not that much at all between the Czech Republic and Croatia, with England just slightly better than both of them.  You claim that Scotland had the beating of the Czech Republic, despite losing 2-0, well on the evidence of the games, you could say that Scotland had an even better chance of beating England when they met. If anyone deserved the win in the England v Scotland match, it was probably Scotland, given the chances that they had.

As for Gilmour sure, he could have perhaps made some difference in the games against both the Czechs and the Croats, but either way, that's just hindsight. At the end of the day, both the Czechs and the Croats have tough sides and they are equally matched, as evidenced when they drew against each other. Scotland didn't disgrace themselves, either they leave the tournament with their pride intact and they will especially be pleased that they didn't lose to England at Wembley.
