Some clarification on Goretzka's recent injury setback..hope for the best but it doesnt sound too optimistic. From Hip problems to Covid to this knee issue argh.

Sports medicine specialist Dr. Thorsten Dolla has confirmed that a sudden surgery is not necessary and it is important to see how the treatment goes in the coming weeks. He said (via Bild😞 “The patellar tendon sits below the kneecap and transmits the force of the thigh to the lower leg. If the leg is frequently stretched under full loads, such as when kicking a soccer ball, the tendon can become inflamed. As with Leon Goretzka, you can initially treat without surgery. However, if the tendon is too severe, an operation would be unavoidable.”

Keep going King keep going....

Like anyone, Bayern Munch winger Kingsley Coman sees the transfer rumors always floating around the club and knows that the Rekordmeister is always capable of getting a player that it wants.

Still, Coman thinks that it is a great thing that Bayern Munich’s group is built on a lot of players who have been in the club for years.

“Bayern also have money, but not as much as most clubs in England or PSG. But that alone is not the point anyway. Our team is really a team. We are a unit that sticks together even in difficult situations. That’s the most important thing,” Coman told Sport1. “We also have a lot of people around our team who work very well. It’s nice to see that more and more young players are being promoted.”

As far as some of those players who were promoted in the club’s recent history, Coman has come away impressed with both Jamal Musiala and Tanguy Nianzou.

“Jamal is very, very good. You can tell when someone has talent. I felt it in the first training when he was only 17. He has a lot of quality and is getting better and better. Step by step he will develop physically and become a man. That’s very good for us,” Coman said. “(Nianzou) trains very well, is serious and motivated. Sometimes you just have to be patient and give yourself time. Tanguy is ready, he definitely shows that. And with talents like him, Jamal or (Josip) Stanišić, we are very well equipped for the next few years.”

@Viva la FCB, I saw a headline over the weekend that Alexander Nübel isn't with the club right now because he and Neuer cannot co-exist?  Wtf?

Havent heard that one myself. The Nübel situation was always a weird one though, like from our perspective makes perfect sense but from his? I dont know man, I guess he just really really believed in himself to be able displace Neuer at some point. It sounds like a Neuer extension is close and he shows no signs of slowing down, I figure hes got at least another 2-3 good years in him easy so where does this leave Nübel? probably the inevitable sale that was always going to happen.

Injury updates:

Neuer - light training probably a couple weeks away

Goretzka - still unknown - only light jogging

Tolisso - Unlucky coco but only a light Thigh injury 3-4 week timeline

Coman - ready to go against Frankfurt likely -  was fully training

Musiala - Still working on recovery from Covid - was in the squad for Fürth likely same Saturday

Its been talked about for a few weeks and since then has been tried a little bit but this sheds some more light on the thought process of trying to morph Musiala into more of a 6 or even an 8 in the middle of the park to more of a Thiago type role. I dont hate it but from what we've seen of him so far it doesnt seem to be where his strengths lie. Bayern does have a long succesful track record of moving players around though so I will reserve judgement. Theres been some talk of doing the same with young Paul Wanner as well for what thats worth.

Good news everyone. Davie's myocarditis sounds as if its improving every week and both him and Goretzka are expected to make their returns in April - likely in time for the Quarterfinals. Also sounds as if Tolissos hamstring tear wasnt that bad and he will be an option sometime this month.

I'm looking forward to a full-strength Bayern in the CL run-in.

It was too good to be true. Süle training injury (thigh) out 3-4 weeks likely both CL legs argh. That means an Upa start you never know what youre gonna get.

You can have Hummels back.

On the transfer front these two have had interest for quite a while but it seems like its picking up steam, I know nothing other then their positions which are both needs in Rb and center mid - probably means Roca is off if this happens.. and likely Pavard moving to CB which likely means no CB reinforcements. We'll see how this plays out.

I was listening to the Gegenpress podcast yesterday and they were talking about Gravenberch.  Sounds like he would be a backup #6 since Tolisso is leaving.  They don't see him as a starter just yet.

Edited to say that BVB were after Mazraoui but he seems to want Bayern.

Yeah i should have mentioned Tolisso is pretty much confirmed gone, reportedly asked for a fairly substantial raise but hes always god damn injured. Alot of buzz about Roca leaving as well though.

Apparently Mazraoui was fairly close to a Barca deal as well.

Nothing to get excited for next season.
team is clearly below the top teams of Real Madrid man city Liverpool just to name 3.
Winning champions league has become a dream rather than an expectation

they have taken big step backwards

losing 5:0 in pokal early on in the tournament

losing to Villarreal in quarterfinals 2:1.
is embarrassing for a top side like Bayern to lose to a 7th placed team over 2 legs

Come on over to BVB, our standards are much lower.

Im cautiously optimistic for next season. The rumoured recruitment is exciting and will fill in roster needs to play a back 3 which Nags for better or worse seems absolutely intent on employing. Speaking of for better or worse we arent going to kneejerk fire a manager, this seems to be the long haul and will at least give him a chance to prove his worth. Lastly we've tied down contractually all our core players through their prime, will be interesting to see how the Lewy, Müller and Neuer and too a lesser extent Gnabry extensions go.

Coaches worth has been pending his entire career.  Nagelsmann has yet to win a tournament. Getting knocked out 5:0 in pokal this season and embarrassed in champions league by Villarreal.  He was granted a championship proven squad. Only he is not proven champion.

Youre judging his career to date on trophies? You're expecting Hoffenheim to win trophies? You're expecting Redbull to win trophies? Hes also still only 34 he can learn and grow hes far from finished and he will very likely win the Bundesliga so theres your first trophy to kickstar your measuring stick. He can have at least a year and some squad tinkering to get in the personnel to play the way he wants before I judge him too harshly but you do you bud. Hes not without criticism and theres been plenty but this is pretty premature... jesus. I know youve talked about not caring about the Bundesliga trophy before.. Ill move passed that for the sake of my sanity but how would you rate Pep's time with us then? He did the double twice and league title all 3 times but never made it passed the semi's in the CL. Is that a failure? Thats three seasons to evaulate? Pep came with massive pedigree and still in one of his seasons "only" managed to win the Bundesliga title.
