You can't blame him.

3 year deal on what I imagine will be a great wage, it's a no brainer for him and the financial security of his family.

I would say he's got more chance of winning something there but that is up for debate xD

Blow for Brentford that mind. Before he got intergrated into the team, they were struggling to create. They need to replace his vision, delivery and creativity.

We had a bad season, but lets not forget we were within a penalty shoot out of winning a trophy the season before and threw away a fair few Semi finals during the Ole spell.

He will only improve our chances in the competition this season as well.

Yes and no. Eriksen leaving is obviously a blow and even if you think you have a full squad, a player like him will improve any side he gets put into, so losing him does mean we are losing a level of creativity that is near impossible to replace.

With that said it's too easy to place our problems last season down to not having Christian Eriksen sooner than we did. The reason we were in a rut was because David Raya was our injured for the middle third of the season and his replacement gave goals and the ball away like he was handing out cash prizes, Ivan Toney spent time out both injured and covid sick which unlike other sides we weren't gifted a rescheduled fixture. We lost Kristoffer Ajer for a long period at the same time as well which affected our build up play and defensive cover.

Essentially every problem we could have encountered we did, and then when Eriksen came in during Jan, both David Raya and Ivan Toney played together for the first time since October or November. Ajer came back, other player injuries stopped. Etc etc.

Aside from that, we will welcome Josh Dasilva back to full fitness this season and he will have a pre-season under his belt. So attacking midfield quality is back without us spending a penny. We need to do more to strengthen and if we can find someone with some of Eriksen's qualities that will be great, but the team is a lot better than it's given credit for and we're already plugging considerable weaknesses within the squad.

No he didn't xD

More along the lines of he's a short term fix that probably won't play week in week out.

Which is still utter bollocks. But hey ho, played for the scousers so he obviously knows eveythiiiiiiiing about Eriksen and Manchester United and football in general. If Liverpool had randomly snapped him as back up, he’d be wanking all over Walton Breck Road. Not really surprised though as he’s spouting it on TalkShite.

this is all about money

Nothing wrong with that in my eyes if it is. Bloke has to think about how long he has left and what he can get out the game to provide for his family and he more than anyone would be concious of that.

To be fair to him, from a football perspective, he'll go from playing in front of 17k to nearly 74k and contrary to all the piss taking, it's still a global scale club.

It's a brilliant move for him, just remains to be seen how he'll fit in there.

Im not saying it's wrong,  I just don't think people should dismiss money as a driving factor these days.   Loyalty and all that doesn't exist,  its all about how many Benjamin's you pony up.
