Announced on 16th June at 9am.

But this shite can get in the bin.

Why should they get preference?

That sounds like Southgate pushing for that, presumably because most of his squad will be made up of players from those clubs.

Still don't agree with it. Shouldn't even be considered.

I don't think the proposal from Southgate is that none of the 'big 6' play that weekend, just that they don't play against each other.

No idea what benefit that brings to Southgate and England though. Less intense games and eliminating the chance of a fall out between rival club players (as happened with Gomez and Sterling that time) when they meet up is all I can think of.

Yeah I know, I don't get why the suggestion to avoid just those 6 playing each other comes about though.

It sets a precedent for future which won't be healthy.

The Premier League already caved with the 5 subs rule to benefit those six so the precedent has already been set by them unfortunately.

Weird how this has turned into a 'big six getting their own way' when it's the England manager that has requested it.

It does say one rule for some teams and another for the rest. The fact that the FA is even acknowledging the "big six" label isn't right.

Fixtures between Boxing Day and NYD this year are to be scrapped, as a way for clubs to 'ease' players back after World Cup.

Actually a sensible decision from PL for once!

Yeah but it's not like those teams have pushed for it? It's the dickheads at the FA.

It's a stupid plan too - what's it for, because of that time Sterling attacked Gomez for no reason in training? I'm not sure not playing a match recently is going to quell some of the bigger egos in the England squad, as much as they might hope it does.

These players are supposed to be professionals and Southgate's supposed to be a good man manager - they should be able to put club rivalries aside for a world cup and part of Southgate's job is to manage the rivalries and egos.

The league should reject the request, but they probably won't.

I thought the fixtures weren't released till 9am?

They are. But an ITK on the Leicester forum says we've got Brentford first.

And Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd all within first 6 fixtures.
