Administrator Stan 18,441 Posted August 7, 2023 Author Administrator Share Posted August 7, 2023 That's quality from Australia! What a counter. Foord finishing that off very coolly.
Moderator Tommy 12,650 Posted August 7, 2023 Moderator Share Posted August 7, 2023 Come on Denmark, and my former facebook friend! To be fair, I have nothing against Australia either. May the best team win. Atmosphere wise it would be better for Australia to advance of course.

Harry 1,437
Sam Kerr is probably the biggest name in Australian sport these days. So good to see her finally getting some game time

Harry 1,437
This is shaping up to be a very interesting world cup. Still lots of teams capable of winning it.
Moderator Tommy 12,650 Posted August 7, 2023 Moderator Share Posted August 7, 2023 "Can you believe this shit?" Fun facts about Michelle Alozie (the player being stomped on): She holds a degree in molecular biology from Yale and, in addition to playing for the Houston Dash, works as a cancer research technician at the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

That's unacceptable, she should obviously be focused on winning football matches. /s Nah but in all seriousness, that's very impressive!

Subscriber Mel81x+ 3,621 Posted August 8, 2023 Subscriber Share Posted August 8, 2023 Does the Australian Women's Football NT get paid equally compared to other sports in Australia? My guess is that they probably do.

Just because they have interests outside of football doesn't mean they can't focus on the game. Just like people blaming Germany's men's team World Cup exit on the rainbow coloured captain's armband. No Rapinoe and some of the others on the American team put their own political agenda ahead of representing their country and playing football. They were unfocused , and partial pre occupied with matters of the pitch and it showed in their play. They were lucky to get out of the group stage and only played well in their last game after the criticism back home grew to be too much to ignore. She didn't take a hiatus from football did she? She hasn't stopped playing or gave up trying? She may have added the political angle because she became a big name and wanted to make people aware of the inequality. Did you have the same criticism for Rashford when he was focusing on the free meals for kids initiatives? Even in general did you have the same criticism for him raising awareness of political issues instead of just focusing on football?

If they won you sure wouldn't be saying they rode to victory due to being fired up about a woke agenda would you?
