I HATE HIS SPORT

DONT FUCKING USE VAR IF A CALL IS ALREADY MADE

USE IT STRAIGHT AWAY

You want to use VAR as goal line technology ? When there is a foul it says on refree's watch ?

So you guys would rather they stopped play every time to double check? Surely that would be more of a bloody delay...we saw in the first half another pen claim that was played on. If the call on the field is incorrect then I support VAR being double checked while the play continues. It was the right call made so I dont understand the whinging.

Uhh, no. I expect the ref to stop play review VAR and then make a decision. Not make a decision, let play continue, stop play, and then make a new decision. That is stupid.

The referee still has to make calls based on his own initial judgement. He shouldn't have to stop and review every single incident, that's what the guys in the room are there for, to tell him if he needs to review a decision.

Nah I'm not having that. I see the likes of Iceland, Mexico and Peru trying to win every ball in any position and then I see Ozil just accept he's been beaten.

He did well in tracking back but the work rate was shocking, and not being a right back is no excuse. He's just a weaker Riquelme.

"Did well tracking back but the work rate was shocking"... You don't even see the contradiction do you? xD

He would've gotten less shit if he didn't even bother getting back to cover for an absent defence.

I agree, but tracking back and doing nothing there doesn't mean you did the job.

Use the quote system. No, the ref doesn't need to stop play to double check everytime. That is stupid, we have pro refs for a reason they shouldn't need to double check very often. Only when the view was obfuscsted should a ref rely on VAR.

If a call is made, a call is made.

I never said anything about reviewing every incident.

But you're whining about it being used here? To make the correct call. The referee thought the ball was won, it was clearly not on review. So he overturned his mistake. There is no better way to use VAR. Without literally stopping for every incident to be reviewed or giving the lead VAR official the power to overturn the refs decision him/herself.

VAR should be a tool used by the ref to facilitate decisions that can't be made on what is seen. Not a secondary assisstant that makes retroactive calls.

Who's to decide which decisions can't be made ? What if the ref makes every decision even if its wrong.

If the ref is sure and makes the call despite it being wrong, I'm fine with it.

I hope one day during the 30 or so seconds that it takes to review while play is till going on, the opposing team scores, it is pulled back, disallowed, and then a penalty is given to against. That'd be hilarious.

Then Russia would win the World Cup and Putin would referee it from one of those emperor style seats corrupt people are sitting on so far during this World Cup.

Then that ref probably shouldn't be at the world cup. VAR isn't perfect there will be decisions made that won't be correct either. The sport looks different in replay, and slowed down. All I want is consistency, if a call is made, it is made.

I do think the panel watching won't take that much time to review. I'm sure they are told to go for review if they see a situation like that.

To be honest mate... I’m with you in that some refs shouldn’t be at the tournament. How he didn’t see that as a penalty in realtime is beyond me.
