I think this could be a tight one, especially if Cardiff grab the first goal. They have been very poor in attack but we have been equally as bad at the back. If our front line puts in a performance though we should win this one fairly comfortably, I hope...

Love to see this team today -

Cech

Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal

Ramsey, Torreira

Mkhitaryan, Özil, Welbeck

Aubameyang

Leno still on the bench :dam:

Cech has actually been very good so far this season. Bit shaky on the ball at times but has made a lot of top saves. Rumours were swirling Leno has looked poor in training and during pre-season. Not sure Emery rates him.

It would be terrible if Leno fails without even having had an opportunity. But Emery's the one seeing what's going on in training as he's very hands on in that sense and also adding what the goalkeeping coaches feel.

Frustrating we splashed £40m on both him and Sokratis. Think we would of been far better off using all that money on a top notch CB.

We needed depth first and foremost mate and also add to the equation that we are in absolutely no position to attract the top notch players.  There's also the factor of the board wanting to get rid of a lot of overpaid players with long contracts which when at the start of the transfer window you don't know how that part is going to go.  It's gonna take us at least three years to clean it all out and really start building. Hopefully during that time we remain moderately decent enough for the technical staff not to get sacked and then bring back stability.

I said some years back that this would occur with Wenger remaining.  Wenger shouldn't have gone before his last two year deal, he should've stepped aside minimum 5 years ago.

We're going to lose today, absolutely shocking defensively.

so are Cardiff though. Lacazette seems more interested in feigning injury as opposed to capitalising on any Cardiff mistakes .
