If our defence plays to its level of last season we will slap them.

However, Aubameyang and Pepe against the high line (the players can say it isn't, but it clearly has been) we've been playing with is very worrying. Especially with Matip instead of Gomez.

Interesting that both sides are basically giving the other side license to try their favourite routes of attack.

Arsenal are giving Liverpool's fullbacks loads of space, and Liverpool are giving Auba and Pepe a chance to run at their centre backs.

Arsenal looked really impressive but Liverpool seem to have got to grips with their gameplan after the first few breaks Arsenal got: keep the ball in wide areas and grind them down with crosses and set-pieces.

Arsenal were banking on Liverpool losing it in the middle and didn't seem to have much of a plan when Liverpool stopped taking those kinds of risks on the ball.

Defensively this is a massive improvement from Arsenal compared to this fixture last season. But the most impressive thing about them today is Pepe looks like someone who can create something out of nothing. I don’t think they look that great though

This is ultimately the issue with Aubameyang, elite goalscorer but really lacks any sort of on ball ability. Just doesn't help us in anyway to relieve the pressure, needs to be doing more in the second half.

Well there’s also the fact that a deep line against our high press, while leaving our fullbacks open constantly is going to put you under constant pressure. It’s a decent tactic if you’re confident you can block every single cross, but it’s risky because you’re going to face so many crosses and have very little of the ball to relieve pressure.

Arsenal are unlucky to be behind at half time, Pepe should really have put them 1-0. Neither side created many great chances but Arsenal have created the most so far, still means fuck all when you’re 1-0 down

Arsenal need to be more adventurous now as they can’t get away with holding out for a 0-0 draw, which will suit Liverpool down to the ground

David Luiz has put two horrendous tackles in that have completely missed the ball

Pepe has done everything right so far bar finishing, another day and he could have grabbed two already
