Chaaay AFC Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Pretty excited about our lineup, think he has gone with the most suitable line-up. Watch us get smashed now... Hopefully Monreal and AMN have top games at full back because we need them to.
Cicero Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Looking forward to seeing which side of Luiz we'll see
Rick Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 If our defence plays to its level of last season we will slap them. However, Aubameyang and Pepe against the high line (the players can say it isn't, but it clearly has been) we've been playing with is very worrying. Especially with Matip instead of Gomez.
Chaaay AFC Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Nervous, just hope we don't get torn apart here. Any sort of result would be massive, just hoping for a good performance.
The Artful Dodger Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Arsenal hitting the long ball eh. Might quite like them soon.
Inverted Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Interesting that both sides are basically giving the other side license to try their favourite routes of attack. Arsenal are giving Liverpool's fullbacks loads of space, and Liverpool are giving Auba and Pepe a chance to run at their centre backs.
Cicero Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Liverpool are one holding midfielder too many. Like the look of this new Arsenal.
Chaaay AFC Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 What a chance, poor finish but Pepe has been unreal today.
Inverted Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Arsenal have defended well, but you can't allow yourself to be put under pressure so long. Eventually, you can't clear every cross. Unless you're Atlético Madrid circa 2014-2016.
Dr. Gonzo Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Well that’s one way to get passed a bus, and just when I thought we’d need some more inventiveness against this deep line than crosses from our fullbacks. Well in Matip
Inverted Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Curious how Arsenal will play if Liverpool ease off with the overlaps and stop leaving so much space behind them.
Chaaay AFC Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Great to see that useless fat twat Sokratis costing us again. What was he doing at that corner.
LFCMike Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Arsenal have two men marking VVD and forget about Matip haha
Inverted Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Arsenal looked really impressive but Liverpool seem to have got to grips with their gameplan after the first few breaks Arsenal got: keep the ball in wide areas and grind them down with crosses and set-pieces. Arsenal were banking on Liverpool losing it in the middle and didn't seem to have much of a plan when Liverpool stopped taking those kinds of risks on the ball.
Dr. Gonzo Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Defensively this is a massive improvement from Arsenal compared to this fixture last season. But the most impressive thing about them today is Pepe looks like someone who can create something out of nothing. I don’t think they look that great though
Chaaay AFC Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 This is ultimately the issue with Aubameyang, elite goalscorer but really lacks any sort of on ball ability. Just doesn't help us in anyway to relieve the pressure, needs to be doing more in the second half.
The Artful Dodger Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Matip is so lanky. Almost impossible to mark.

Well there’s also the fact that a deep line against our high press, while leaving our fullbacks open constantly is going to put you under constant pressure. It’s a decent tactic if you’re confident you can block every single cross, but it’s risky because you’re going to face so many crosses and have very little of the ball to relieve pressure.
Danny Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Arsenal are unlucky to be behind at half time, Pepe should really have put them 1-0. Neither side created many great chances but Arsenal have created the most so far, still means fuck all when you’re 1-0 down Arsenal need to be more adventurous now as they can’t get away with holding out for a 0-0 draw, which will suit Liverpool down to the ground David Luiz has put two horrendous tackles in that have completely missed the ball Pepe has done everything right so far bar finishing, another day and he could have grabbed two already
Rick Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 I mean, I know Arsenal have had a few breaks but we have been the better of the sides and put on most the pressure. Absolutely deserving of our lead.
Inverted Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Can't wait for the fume over Salah getting an absolute stonewall penalty given.
